Bag Envy

clutch this

The biggest area of my closet that could use some improvement is the clutch department. I have a few that I take out here and there but, for the most part, I rely pretty heavily on two or three. I have started looking at some new, exciting bags that I would like to add to my collection, most of which are patterned or striped. With the exception of the clear bag above, they all have some visual interest that I can take my eyes off of.

I wanted to include the clear clutch because it will probably be the first bag of the six that I purchase because it is just so darn practical. It can be used in my larger bags to easily find what I am looking for and is just what I need for attending football games this season. I was chatting with a friend earlier this week who is headed to her first NFL game ever and she didn't know the "no purse" rule at the games. I suggested she grab this bag asap and have a blast at the Redskins game.

Phillip Lim for Target: What I Bought

Last week I posted pieces from the Phillip Lim Collection for Target. I had been waiting for the release for weeks and planned out my morning to make sure I got what I was looking for. My mom and I woke up early and put our coffee in to-go mugs and made our way to Target at about 7:30am. The store opened at 8 but I had a feeling there would be a line... and I was right.

We got to target around 7:45 and saw there was a line of about 10 people at each entrance. We quickly parked the car and ran to get in line. Everyone was talking about what they wanted and it was clear that everyone was in line for a handbag.

The store opened at exactly 8:00am and by 8:03 every bag in the store was gone. Luckily, we knew just where to go when the doors opened. I guess all of our Black Friday shopping had paid off. We ended up finding three bags we loved and a skirt that I knew was perfect. The store we went to did not have the dress I was eyeing but this skirt is a great fill-in item. I cannot wait to wear it.

We then wandered around the store for about 45 minutes filling our cart with more Target goodies. Man, I love Target.

Here are some photos of our finds:

Did you score anything on Sunday?

march day twenty seven: thrifty

Today's theme: Thrifty
I wanted to show off my latest thrift store purchase.

Sadly, my local thrift store has recently discovered my secret. The store has been known to have some amazing brand name deals. My best find to date: a $7 BRAND NEW United Colors of Benetton blazer. Last time I went to the store, I noticed a remodel and a new section: the Boutique. Fancy name... fancy price. The Boutique now includes all the brand new items. When I looked through the rack, the items included J.Crew dresses, Ann Taylor dresses and Loft pants-- all in my size, all with original tags. Very tempting, but the new price structure was quite a let down. I am so bummed they figured out my secret.

My purchase: this purse. Similar style here

It is EXACTLY what I have been looking for. Brown, leather-like, (long) removable strap and big. I am so happy I found it!

Total cost after tax: $9.43
