sick: day 4

Well, today started off better than the last few. B-rad has every other Friday off work so he asked me if I wanted to go to iHop. Knowing that I could hardly get out of bed, I declined. Being the amazing bf that he is, he went to iHop and brought it home for me! YAY!! We had eggs and bacon and hash browns in the comfort of our own living room. Best morning ever? I think so.

After taking some more advil and OTC drugs, I began feeling better. I started a new book (yay!) and took a shower. It is amazing how much a shower can change your life. This is progress: a shower. Pathetic really. Anywho, we looked outside our window and what did we see?
CURBSIDE CUPCAKES.

I have heard such amazing things about this truck-- I just had to try it out.

Posing with our cupcakes-- fat kid style.
Cutest truck ever.
Carrot cake!! Obvi this was my first choice.

I even got my bf to pose with his cupcake. You can see the pleasure all over his face. Ha.

Best Sick Day Ever.

PS. I am finally starting to feel a little better. The trek to the cupcake truck wore me out and I plan on sitting on the couch the rest of the day. But, for the record, the trip was totally worth it.

sick-- days 2 & 3

Day 2:

Painted my nails. I clearly am bored. Starting to get really into some lame daytime TV. I watched Nate Berkus and cried when he gave an 11 year old girl a new bedroom. How lame.

Day 3:
I finally went to the doctor today. (What a mess I was finding the place. Seven Corners. Eww.) Anyway, she tested me for strep and mono and both (luckily!) came back negative. She told me I had a fever still and that I have the flu. Lovely. There are no antibiotics to cure the flu. Sucks. And I got a flu shot. Double sucks. She gave me a nasal spray (generic brand, with insurance $35!) and told me I should be better in a few days. I am not supposed to go back to work until Monday which totally sucks. I am so over sitting at home and doing nothing all day. I just want to feel amazing and go back to my j-o-b.

Ughhh.

At least I got a new book to read. Perhaps tomorrow will be a little less boring.

Fingers crossed for better health!

Home. Sick.

Not homesick. Being at home, sick, is the worstttt. So boring. I wish I had the motivation to do something besides sit here on the couch. Boo.

So, the banana bread I mentioned the other day.... it turned out okay. I made the bread with wheat flour and splenda and it it turned out OKAY. I didn't have a mixer or a bread pan (oops!) so I mixed it by hand and made banana muffins! They are rather cute but they could have tasted better. Brad seems to like them-- that's good! I know what I need to do differently next time... and there WILL be a next time. I heart banana bread.

Daytime tv stucks. Maybe I will make something fancy for dinner... and I will start cooking now. Ha.

Too bad I can't pull myself off the couch. Ughhhh. I need a miracle drug.

Baking

Baking is one of my favorite things everrrr. Too bad if I baked all the time I would be F-A-T. Well, my amiga, Jadeen, sent me a recipe for banana bread last week so I am suuuuper motivated to try it out. I am going to test my skills tonight.

Updates to follow.

YAY for baking and YAY for recipes from fun friends.

Happy Spring!
