Mary Kay Beauty

Earlier this week I came home to find a mailbox full of Mary Kay products. I immediately ran inside and opened up the box to see all of the goodies that I got to play with. Inside the box was mascara, finishing powder, creme eyeshadow, gel eyeliner, lip gloss, bronzer, blush and two brushes. It was like I hit the makeup lottery! I was so excited to try out the new products that I immediately started putting them on.

To give the products a full test, I decided to only wear MK makeup the next day and see how they each compared with my daily products. I really liked the mascara and the gel eyeliner but I am not sure how much I loved the finishing powder. I wear powder every day but this one felt almost too light. I wanted a little more coverage than it provided. But I have never found a liner that I enjoyed as much as this one. I may be converting to only MK eye liner soon!

While this was only my first day trying out the Mary Kay products, I am excited to see how these products do in the warmer weather we should be getting later this week.

Recent Obession: Lip Color

Now that the weather has finally warmed up (I mean, it was 93 when I landed in Vegas yesterday) I have decided to shift my focus from heavy foundations and powders to fun summer lip colors. Because I will probably be wearing less and less makeup as the summer arrives, I want to focus on my two staples: mascara and lip color. I have never been one of those girls who carries tons of lip colors... until recently. There are no less than nine different colors in my purse at the current moment. And I am still trying to narrow down what color I will be wearing as my BFF walks down the isle on Saturday.

I am learning towards one of my reds--either Buxom or Clinique-- but I can't stop wearing these Maybelline colors. Alison turned me on to them a few months ago and I have been obsessed ever since.

So… I entered my first ever blog contest… and WON!

I entered a contest at weheartthis and I won free nail polish. Woot woot.

I love me some nail polish.

Well, it arrived in the mail last night so I was inspired to try it out this morning.

I am not in love with the color but it's kinda fun for summer.

I am a much bigger fan of the black crackle, but oh well.

This is crushed candy. Not my favorite.

After this experience, I now know what I want to do. I want to work for a beauty blog. I learned that there are people that just test beauty products all the time. If I could do that, my life would be complete. I have no idea how to go about this, but you better believe I am going to reseach.
