Memorial Day Weekend.

Stereotypical things I made sure to do over this 3-day weekend:

Go to a baseball game
Drink beer
Go to the pool
Get sunburned
Make a big purchase at Macy's during the "big sale"
Have/ attend a BBQ
Sleep in
Wear flip-flops
Make homemade mint lemonade

Happy Summer.

NYC Pet Show 2011

So, last weekend I went up to NYC with my dad for the NYC Pet Show. He was there for work and asked me if I wanted to come up and help him. I was excited to spend some QT with dad so I took the train up after work on Friday. What I didn't expect was how CRAZY people are with their pets. Here are a few examples of what we witnessed over the weekend:

This dog is famous. Don't ask me why. Her owner is some lady who is "famous" for her grooming techniques. Please notice the feather hat the dog is wearing.

Tie dye. This was all the rage at the show. Really?

Dog treadmills. Seriously, how lazy can people be? Go walk your dog.

Tutu + dog= this. Barf.

My favorite guy from the show. He is a French Mastiff and he is massive. So adorable.

Shoes. On a dog. It looks like a goat.

And more tie dye.

Yeah, people are sooo crazy. But, hey, at least we had a great time people watching.

drugs.

I must be on them.

My mother somehow convinced me (and b-rad) to sign up for the ARMY 10-MILER last night.

Seriously, what am I thinking?

I can hardly run 1 mile... now 10?

Oh man, I have a lot of training to do.

Team 2 Outing

Yesterday, Team (awesome) 2, had our first team outing since I started my job. Kristin picked me up around 11:30 and we drove to Anna's. There, we got in Anna's car and headed to West Virginia to watch Byron race cars. We got to WV around 1:30ish and unpacked the car. We watched the cars zoooom around the track for awhile and then started our BBQ. The grill took awhile to get hot, but we successfully made hot dogs while sitting at a race track. Sooo WV. Ha. About 30 min after we finished eating, Kristin, Anna and I headed to the track with Byron for our adventure. We strapped on our helmets and got in. Holy Cow. I thought I was going to die. We were going over 100mph most of the way and at one point I saw the spedometer OVER 120. Nuts. We raced around for about 10 minutes each and then let the next person have a turn. I am not sure I could handle much more than 10 minutes. It was really really fun, but I was happy to climb out of the car at the end.

This video does not really show how fast the cars were going... but it gives you a little bit of an idea of what we did. Insane.

More videos may surface... Byron had a camera on the whole time we were in the car. Pretty hysterical/ embarassing.

Pics of us getting ready to ride:

dworld

We went to Orlando for 5 days and had a blast together. I realized that I am not a fan of places that cater to children and heavily overweight people. I even wrote a letter to dworld about their lack of healthy food options available. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED spending the week on vacay with mg bf, but I don't plan on returning to Orlando for a loooong time, if ever.

Bleh.

Well, instead of writing about all that we did, here are some pics:

I love my boyfriend.
He is awesome.

C-A-P-S! CAPS! CAPS! CAPS!

On Friday night, we went to the first playoff game (second round) at the Verizon Center. It was the Caps vs. Tampa Bay Lightning. The game was super fun but the Caps lost. Major bummer.

Just wanted to post photos!

(6 days until Orlando!)
