Q&A with Sonali Bloom

Today's post is a little different than those I have posted recently. I had the opportunity to chat with Sonali Bloom, the co-founder of Curio Road. How did Curio Road come to be?
My co-founder and both felt strongly that there was a huge need in the market for a shopping platform that would truly resonate with creative women. The ideas behind Curio Road developed very organically from what we perceived as an evolving marketplace that had failed to fill a key gap.

Who are some of the designers who will be featured in the Collection?

Many of our bestsellers will become part of the Collection! Verabel Jewelry, Spineless Classics, Mashugana, and Edie's Lab are just a few of the great brands and designers joining Curio Road on a more permanent basis.

What types of product will be featured in the Collection?

We have a strong focus on jewelry and accessories, but will also bring in some great apparel and home decor brands, as well as plenty of great gift ideas! We are honored to work with 150+ of the top handmade designers in the USA, and are so excited to be able to support their small businesses by connecting them with a devoted following and placing them in the spotlight on Curio Road.

How frequently will Curio Road update the products in the permanent Collection? 

All the time! At least weekly, and we'll still be discovering new brands and products frequently to share with our members. The Collection will start out launching our bestselling and best-loved lines that we have featured in past months, as we help those designers and artists reach an ever broader audience to grow their businesses. I'm really excited to help promote the work of these amazing makers who are producing such beautiful and unique items in their homes and in small workshops - the more we can share their work with our audience, the better!

Does Curio Road plan to feature designers with big ticket items, or higher price points?

Our focus has always been on affordability, because it's something I feel very strongly about. We want the designs we feature to be accessible to everyone! We certainly will be carrying fine jewelry in the future, and a few other big ticket items, but we'll always be excited by great style at a great price.

When does the permanent collection launch? 

We're launching the secret link with your blog post and your followers can access it before the general public - exciting!! :)
