I have been in love with this sweatshirt since I ordered it at the beginning of this year, but sadly, I have only pulled it out of the closet a couple of times. The last time I wore it (Night in the Country) I came home and washed it and it was covered in those ugly little sweater balls that appear after wearing something too many times-- and it was probably only the second time I washed it. Not. Happy.

I called my mom after letting it sit around for months and asked her to help me fix it. Did you know those little sweater balls come off easily with a disposable razor and a lint roller? What would I do without mom's little secrets? I now plan on wearing this sweatshirt on the reg.

Neon Shorts

As I've mentioned before, anything neon quickly becomes one of my favorites and the same can be said  for these shorts. I bought these shorts last summer and never even took the tags off of them until the beginning of the warm weather this year. I am not sure why I held off on wearing them as they are now my go-to pair in my closet. I think that neon is so flattering in the summer and can make you look so tan, sometimes moreso than white.

I pulled this fun outfit together for an afternoon of pampering and then off to a barbeque joint later in the evening. My toes are now freshly painted and I have one last day to enjoy my weekend before I head back to work tomorrow.

Summer Dresses

One thing I've recently noticed that my closet is missing: summer dresses. While I have plenty of dresses taking up space, so many of them are thicker fabrics and they are all in darker colors. The past few weeks I have been keeping an eye out for great summer dresses to add to my collection.

When I bought this dress, I honestly tried to buy it in yellow. I adored the sunflower color and thought it was just the right amount of summer needed in my closet. Sadly, the dress had sold out in most sizes and the only ones left were far too big. Luckily, the salesperson ran over to me with this pink number and I was sold. The color was bright and cheerful-- exactly what I wanted!

Now... if only I could own this dress is about five other colors I would be all set.

DIY Tank Top

Over the weekend, while still being excited about sewing new projects, Brad mentioned that the cookout we were invited to had a strict "no sleeves" rule. Instead of just wearing a top I already owned, I decided to make another shirt to wear to the bbq. I took one of Brad's old broomball tees (it was a broomball bbq after all) and cut the back off. I thought it would be fun to add some stripes to the plain tee so I took the front of the shirt from yesterday's DIY and sewed it on to the back. I then cut off the sleeves and threw on some jewelry and was set to go.

I love the way the tank came out and I think the contrasting pattern on the back is so fun. I am already looking for more shirts around the house to switch up like I did with this one. I can't wait to try more things with my sewing machine and see if I can transform some old clothes that I hardly wear anymore.
