Are Aviators Really All That?

Top: Target  Jacket: J.Crew similar here  Pants: Old Navy  Shoes: Target  Sunglasses: Similar here  Nail Polish: Zoya

Okay, serious question: what is all of the hype about aviator sunglasses?

Sure, everyone says they flatter every face shape and they go with every type of outfit, but, c'mon, am I the only one that disagrees? Not matter how many (millions of) pairs I try on, I can never seem to find a pair that flatters my face. I bought this pair years ago at a gas station for about $8 and never wear them because I think that every photo I take in them turns out awful. I can't stand seeing aviators on my face.

I know what you're thinking: just wear other sunglasses, right? Well, I do, but I really want to make aviators work. I love they way they look on everyone else but I just can't seem to pull them off.

So ladies, is it true, are aviators really the BEST shape for every face? If so, what brand? Maybe the millions ones I've tried are just all the wrong ones.

Movie Date

I got really lucky yesterday when taking these outfit photos as it was much warmer in the morning than when I left work for the day. Somehow the temperatures dropped about 20 degrees throughout the day and when I left work, it was freezing. Literally. I ran home from work as fast as possible though to really bundle up and head back out for a movie date with my roomie. I was lucky enough to score some tickets to the screening of Delivery Man from Birchbox last week and had a blast sharing some popcorn and laughs with my roommate. It's been awhile (ahem, a week) since we had a roomie date but it was just what I needed at the end of a long, cold day.

Neon Shorts

As I've mentioned before, anything neon quickly becomes one of my favorites and the same can be said  for these shorts. I bought these shorts last summer and never even took the tags off of them until the beginning of the warm weather this year. I am not sure why I held off on wearing them as they are now my go-to pair in my closet. I think that neon is so flattering in the summer and can make you look so tan, sometimes moreso than white.

I pulled this fun outfit together for an afternoon of pampering and then off to a barbeque joint later in the evening. My toes are now freshly painted and I have one last day to enjoy my weekend before I head back to work tomorrow.

White Denim

One of the great things about white denim is its ability to seamlessly transition from day to night. I threw on this outfit the other night and thought how easy it would be to wear to work (on a Friday) and then out for the evening. White jeans are one of my favorite summer staples and am so excited to be able to wear them more often, now that the weather is warmer. While I am a huge fan of my black skinnies, there is something about white that I can't get enough of.

Leather Jacket

For the longest time, I have been dying to own a black leather jacket. I think they are so versatile and are incredibly timeless. I have seen so many different versions lately and was so happy when I finally found one in (real) leather in my size. I have been anxiously awaiting warm weather so I could pair it with a girly dress, but because the weather has not been cooperating, I had to go another route.
There is something about a leather jacket, jeans and a pair of aviators that I love. It reminds me of Hollywood: a little bit of glam and a little bit of edge.
What is your favorite way to wear a leather jacket?
