Beth Harbison

Beth Harbison and me!

Last night I was so excited to win tickets from Guest of a Guest for an event going on in Georgetown. It was called Champagne and Chocolate. Obviously, who wouldn't want to win tickets? The event was taking place at BCBG and was supposed to have endless champagne, a book signing with Beth Harbison, gift bags worth over $175, a premiere of the new Fall line and free appetizers! I was so excited I brought my friend Nicole and looked forward to an amazing evening.

Boy was I wrong.

BCBG didn't order the books in time so there were no books for the signing (embarassing!), there were 5 bottles of champagne, a plate of cheese and crackers, no gift bags and a lot of unhappy customers. Oh, and no new "Fall line". The entire event was a bust. Nicole and I were rather disappointed but made the best of it. We ended up just wandering around Georgetown and shopping. Yay!

Then, this morning, I woke up to an email from Guest of a Guest apologizing for the event. They were under the impression it would be much better and thanked me for not being upset. Sophie, from Guest of a Guest, was awesome and I was so happy to receive her email. Although the event was kind of a bust, at least we had fun and I know there are people out there who still have great manners/ customer service/ whatever you want to call it.

My First 5k

Last Saturday was my very first 5k. Yay! Kristin and Diana and I all decided to follow through with the race, even though we were right in the middle of the worst heatwave ever. Well, we glittered up and headed out to Crystal City. When we began, the heat index was only 101. Sadly, that was cool for the week.

Here we are before the run!

During the run. Photo courtesy of Pacers.
I would normally NEVER show anyone this terrible photo, but I feel like it is necessary at this point. It gives you an idea of how freakin' hot it was. GROSS.

The end! Free beers at the finish line!

Well, it was not the world's fastest race (I finished in a little under 37 minutes due to some walking in the heat) but we had a great time! We are hoping to do more in the future, ideally when it cools off.

More photos to come once I unpack at the new house. I have to get my camera cord out. T-minus 3 days until we move!

Oops.

Apparently I entered a blog contest... and won.

Yay for winning free things.

And lots of watches.

And forgetting about entering.

I feel so stupid.

Oh well, love these watches!

Beauty Undercover rocks my socks.

YAY! I am so happy it's not a scam!

do you have the time?

I do.

I have the time times six.

I came home to 6 of these bad boys last night.

I have black, white, teal, pink, yellow and glitter.

Not quite sure how I got these but I am testing it out for today. So far, LOVE it. I kinda like wearing a watch.

Yeah, I'm a nerd. Whatevs.

*newspaper nails*

After many requests for a blog post, here is a picture of my newspaper nails. I think they will look better next time but they aren't too bad for my first try. Plus, I kind of heart them.
