You know what makes any Monday better? New jewelry!

Today I decided to wear my new Stella and Dot necklace that came in the mail over the weekend. I love it even more than the first time I saw it. It is the perfect necklace for any outfit. I tried to wear something very simple so it would stand out a little. Plus, it matches my new watch perfectly. Mondays are always better with some bling.

Today, we woke up and went into the city for brunch. We had plans to meet up with an old friend and meet her new baby. He was soo cute and I am so happy we finally got to meet him. It is a beautiful day outside so we had brunch on the patio while catching up.

After we ate, we drove to Bliss downtown for our pedicure appointments. I booked these months ago so mom and I could go for her birthday. It was a wonderful treat. 

Now it is time to go enjoy the sunshine and get ready for another week back at work.

Yesterday we spent the day shopping in SoHo. We slept in, went to breakfast, got some coffee to go and hit the streets. We wandered in and out of stores for a few hours until we stopped for lunch. We found a cute little cafe nestled between some great shops. I had the best pasta salad I have had in years! It was a great find! We continued shopping for a little while and then started our trek back to DC. We caught the bus on time (unlike getting to New York) and made it home safely. 

What a wonderful weekend away with my mom!

Yesterday was our second day walking around New York City. We walked so many places, we ended up coming home last night and falling asleep instantly-- which is why I was unable to post last night. We visited the Brooklyn Bridge, the Top of the Rock at NBC, Highline, Union Square and more. We came back to the hotel after Union Square to change our clothes and get ready to go see The Lion King on Broadway. We got to our seats early and my friend's friend in the show came out and introduced herself to us-- she was amazing! We had so much fun at the show and I am so happy we had amazing seats. If you have never seen The Lion King, I highly recommend it!

Today was day one of our vacation in the city. We walked all over and did our best to stay dry. We shopped along 5th Avenue, visited Radio City Music Hall while the NFL draft was taking place, took lots of pictures and looked down at the World Trade Center Memorial from the roof of our hotel. Today is my first day of vacation with my mother. Thankfully, the weather improved and we are spending the day catching up, shopping and driving around town. I love having my mom around-- it has been way too long! We head to the Big Apple tomorrow!

I decided to get fancy with my outfit today and rock a suit in the office. I am going to a fancy dinner this evening so I decided to just wear the suit all day. It has been so long since I have put on a suit-- they are so fun! I love skirt suits! Dressing up is one of my favorite things and I feel like I hardly dress up these days. Perhaps I will start doing it more-- especially because Summer is just around the corner. Skirts and dresses are essential in the warm weather.

The warm weather from Saturday definitely did not stick around very long. It rained all day yesterday and we woke up to temperatures in the forties this morning! It was so cold heading to the metro.

I woke up early this morning to meet my mom for coffee before heading into work. I am so excited she is in town for the next week. We are hanging out in DC for half the time and then heading up to spend the weekend in New York. I can't wait! It's Monday and I am already counting down the days until we leave for the Big Apple.

We met a NASA Astronaut! His name is Piers Sellers and he is awesome. He talked to us about his space walks, riding in Discovery and what it is like to go to the bathroom in space. This was definitely the highlight of my day. How often do you meet an astronaut??

Happy Thursday! I woke up early this morning to have coffee with the Marketing Director for Roti. We talked about the Ambassador contest, the food and the company as a whole. I loved learning more about the company and I am still so excited to be the Ambassador for the DC Store. The food is great and the people are so friendly!

April showers are abundant today. Let's hope this leads to lots of May flowers. Due to the rainy/ muggy weather, I don't really have many photos. I tried taking a bunch this morning but none of them really worked out. The light was flat, there were shadows and mist-- overall, they were just terrible. 

 I rediscovered this top in my closet and pulled it out for this gray and dreary day. Nothing like the color mustard to brighten up a Wednesday.

What a fun day! Today marks the first official day of the Roti Ambassador Contest! It is a competition between each local Ambassador for a chance to win free food for a year and a free lunch for the community to benefit each Ambassador's charity of choice.  I am the Ambassador for the F Street store in DC. If I win, my lunch proceeds will go to the American Diabetes Association.

Colleen and I went over to the store at lunch to see what the poster looked like (I was told it would be hanging in the store). Well, we got there only to find the poster hanging in the window, facing the street. There were fliers, table decorations and more! They were even in color!

 I did receive my 50 free meal cards... so the first ten followers to tweet about this will receive free Roti meal cards! @sarainthecity

I finally found a white pair of jeans that I love! I have been on the lookout for these pants for almost a year now. I have tried all different brands, cuts, styles, sizes, etc. Nothing was what I was looking for. I wanted them to be (somewhat) flattering and not be see through. Well, I finally found what I was looking for! I am in love with these pants and am so happy it is warm out so I can wear them all the time. Sure, it isn't Memorial Day yet… but who cares? I heart white jeans!

Today is all about the statement necklace. 

When wearing a statement necklace, the rest of the outfit should be simple as to not make everything too busy. I love the idea of statement necklaces and have set a goal to start wearing them more often. The are just so fun to play with.

Sometimes, accessories make all the difference. I decided to highlight a few of my favorites today. I have recently fallen in love with these earrings and have been wearing them more and more. They are so classy and a little bit bolder than my standard pearl studs. I just love how they drop and add a bit of class to any outfit.

I actually love all of the jewelry that I am wearing-- they are all favorites and I could talk about them forever. Along with my shoes. I love accessories. It's that simple.

As I was walking up to work today, I looked down and realized that everything I am wearing is from one store: The Limited. I rediscovered this store when I moved to DC and ended up buying half my wardrobe from there. More recently, I have been a huge fan of Banana Republic, but I still love to check out the Limited-- especially because they have sales ALL the time.
