Mother's Day Gift Ideas

With Mother's Day around the corner and this being my first Mother's Day in town with my mother in six years I am pretty excited about the upcoming holiday. I have been thinking about what to do for weeks in order to make it our best year yet. While I have already decided we will be doing the local "Moms on the Run" run together in the morning and finishing up our day with dinner at my new house, I want to find a gift that I know will make my mom feel as special as possible.

Here are few of the items I wish I could afford for her from Coronet Diamonds, Danhov and Diamondstuds.com:

What are you hoping to put together for your mom this Mother's Day?

A Bit of Color

Dress: Sami + Dani similar here  Tights: Target  Boots: Bandolino  Watch: c/o The Watch Company  Bracelets: Stella and Dot here (large bracelet discontinued)  Rings: Tiffany and Co. and c/o Berricle  Sunglasses: Ray-Ban  Belt: The Limited similar here  Sweater: LOFT

Earlier this week, I opened the cutest little red box from Berricle to find this perfect silver ring. I have been wearing so much gold lately that I forgot how much I love silver, especially when paired with sparkly things. I saw this ring on their website and knew it would get so much use with the rest of my jewelry. It is simple, yet a great way to add some sparkle to your outfit. It also can easily pair with gold so I can wear it daily-- whether I am wearing gold or silver. If you are looking for some affordable new jewelry, I recommend checking out their site as so many of their pieces are available for under $50.

I 've also been wanting to wear this dress for awhile now but each time I pull it out of my closet, something goes wrong. Most days it was just rain in the way but I knew that I couldn't style it the way I had planned. I am obsessed with the neckline on the dress and was so excited to finally add more color to my daily black and white routine.

Instagram Roundup

I just wanted to post a roundup of the photos I have posted in the past week or so.

I hope you have a great weekend

… and don't forget to follow me on instagram: saramiller04.

april day seventeen: tax day

Tank: Nordstrom
Top: Express No longer available
Jeans: Rock n Republic
Necklace: Stella and Dot

Hope everyone finds a good place to spend their tax refunds. I know I will... Tonight is my first Stella and Dot trunk show and I could not be more excited! I plan on spending my refund (and more!) at the show. I have everything set up and can't wait for everyone to come over this evening for wine and jewelry. Definitely a great combination!

april day twelve: statement

Top: Gossip on 23rd (boutique)
Blazer: Target currently out of stock
Necklace: Stella and Dot

Today is all about the statement necklace.

When wearing a statement necklace, the rest of the outfit should be simple as to not make everything too busy. I love the idea of statement necklaces and have set a goal to start wearing them more often. The are just so fun to play with.

april day ten: it's in the details

Earrings: Stella & Dot
Bracelet: Stella & Dot
Rings: gifted

Sometimes, accessories make all the difference. I decided to highlight a few of my favorites today. I have recently fallen in love with these earrings and have been wearing them more and more. They are so classy and a little bit bolder than my standard pearl studs. I just love how they drop and add a bit of class to any outfit.
I actually love all of the jewelry that I am wearing-- they are all favorites and I could talk about them forever. Along with my shoes. I love accessories. It's that simple.

What is your favorite piece of jewelry?

march day sixteen: cakes and clothing

Last night, Brad and I got inspired to go get an ice cream cake at Baskin Robbins. I have been talking them up for months now so we finally broke down and got one. We ended up getting this little bunny full of mint chocolate chip ice cream and chocolate cake. Needless to say, it was delicious

This morning when I woke up I noticed it was rather gloomy outside. I thought it was a good day to pull out my glasses and maybe try out one of my new necklaces. I think the gloomy weather inspired my black shirt-- I am not in the only one in the office wearing dark colors. What happened to the summer weather we had yesterday?

I much prefer taking photos of things that are not me for my blog, but the necklace photo looks a little creepy without a head (see below). I really like this new necklace and I am glad I finally found some fun new jewelry. It helps dress my outfit up a little on this casual Friday.
So happy it's the weekend!

Jeans: Joe's
Top: H &M Similar Style
Necklace: Jewelry Bar
Bracelet: Bauble Bar
Purse: Michael Kors Similar Style
Glasses: Coach

Tomorrow is St. Patty's Day (and mom's birthday!) and I can't wait to wear green! Hopefully the weather is less gloomy than today!

feb day thirteen: blue

The reason I chose my blue Brighton box today is because I am on a new kick of buying jewelry. I have decided I need some new accessories in my life and today was day one of new bling. I dragged Kristin to Macy's at lunch today in hopes of finding some cute new bracelets. It was quite a successful adventure. I found two really cute new bracelets and a pair of earrings. They aren't blue or else they would be today's photo.
I still want to search for more fun accessories so if anyone has any great websites or ideas, please let me know! I was so insprired by all the cute accessories everyone had this past week so hopefully I can find some that compare.
