Movie Date

Top: J.Crew  Jeans: Citizens for Humanity  Blazer: Target  Scarf: Banana Republic similar here  Boots: Target  Sunglasses: similar here  Watch: La Mer Collections  Bracelets: Alex and Ani and The Limited similar here

I got really lucky yesterday when taking these outfit photos as it was much warmer in the morning than when I left work for the day. Somehow the temperatures dropped about 20 degrees throughout the day and when I left work, it was freezing. Literally. I ran home from work as fast as possible though to really bundle up and head back out for a movie date with my roomie. I was lucky enough to score some tickets to the screening of Delivery Man from Birchbox last week and had a blast sharing some popcorn and laughs with my roommate. It's been awhile (ahem, a week) since we had a roomie date but it was just what I needed at the end of a long, cold day.
Linking up with Lindsay here.

March Birchbox

It's hard to believe this month is my one year anniversary of getting a Birchbox in my mailbox each month. When discovering this amazing service, I had no idea I would still be obsessed one year later.  In honor of my anniversary, I decided to share with you what I found when I opened this month's box:

MAKE Eyeshadow- I cannot wait to try this color out immediately. Of the six colors available, I couldn't be happier with Santa Fe. It is just like the colors I wear every day so this may become a staple in my makeup routine. But, I have to admit, Birchbox has had me wearing some crazy colors before and I still love them (ahem, purple eyeliner).
MAKE Face Primer- It is going to take a lot to pull me away from my Smashbox primer. I am excited to see if this one can compare.
Oscar Blandi Hair Lift Mousse- Honestly, I am just happy this isn't shampoo. I feel like I received shampoo in my box for a solid 6 months and I am so excited to be trying out these new products. Last month I got a detangler and am in love surprise. If this goes over as well as last month's hair product, I will be placing a large order soon.
Whish Shave Crave Shaving Cream- the smell of this cream is fabulous as I have been on a blueberry kick lately. Hopefully it works as well as it smells.
Madewell for Birchbox Emery Board- who doesn't want a nail file covered in flowers, one of the hottest trends this season? A girl can never have too many nail files.
Overall, I am thrilled about the contents of this month's Birchbox. I am so happy they sent such a fab box for my one year anniversary!
What is your favorite item from your March box? Any must-try products?

Holiday Gift Guide

With the holiday season finally here, it's time to start focusing on finding the perfect gift. I am a huge believer in giving the right gift, not just any gift. If it's not perfect, I won't buy it. I love seeing the excitement on someone's face after they have just opened something they love. Trust me, it is totally worth it to scour the internet and search high and low in stores to find the ideal present.
In case you don't have endless hours to search, I wanted to list some of my favorites here, in hopes of making your holiday season a little easier.

A subscription to Birchbox. I think this may be one of the best gifts to give to any friend, not just your best friend. Every girl loves getting beauty samples at her door! Plus, this gift keeps on giving throughout the year, instead of a one-time gift, she will keep getting a box each month.

Stella and Dot jewelry. Affordable jewelry is always a great gift, but with Stella and Dot, it is not only affordable, it is quality. The pieces are substantial, yet not overpriced. For example, this bracelet (one of my favorites) is on sale right now for only $63!

Maui Jim Sunglasses. My dad is a huge fan of these sleek, lightweight sunglasses. They are perfect for a day on the slopes or some time on the golf course. They easily transition from winter to summer and complete any look.
(If you are looking for something a little less expensive, enter my giveaway and win a gift certificate to buy sunglasses!)

ModaPet bowl. This is a perfect gift for any animal lover in your family. These bowls are highly fashionable (Moda means fashion in Italian) and highly durable. They are made of food grade materials (BPA free!), can be placed in the dishwasher, and they have enough colors to match any decor. Plus, they have different sizes for cats and dogs!

The North Face Apex Bionic Jacket. With the cold weather weather setting in across the country, a warm, stylish jacket is something every man needs. I am obsessed with these jackets from The North Face and I think they are perfect for that special man in your life.
DKNY Cozy. This mix of silk and cashmere is the perfect gift for any mom. It is so comfortable, can be worn so many ways and looks great on everyone. I purchased one for my mom and already gave it to her because I was so excited I could not wait. It is a classic piece that will add so much to any wardrobe.

Hope your holiday shopping goes smoothly!

November Birchbox

I have been subscribing to Birchbox for nine months now, and never shared anything about my boxes on my blog… until now. November's box is, by far, my favorite box yet. I was so excited to come home to it on Friday!
For those of you who don't know what a Birchbox is, it is a monthly box that arrives on your doorstep full of beauty samples (and usually one full-sized product!) for only $10 a month. You can cancel your subscription at any time if you don't like your box, but I think that if you find one new product each month that you like, then it is definitely worth the $10. I have found so many products that I love from my Birchbox, including my foundation, that I can't imagine canceling it anytime soon. Especially after opening up this month's box:

I love saving the boxes. You never know what will fit perfectly inside.

November is about giving thanks. I love the notes that are included in the boxes. I think they add a personal touch.

Here is the list of everything in my box. So excited to try everything out!

In the spirit of giving, this sample is for a lucky man in my life. This is a sample of John Varvatos Artisan.

Hair powder/ dry shampoo is one of my favorite things. Especially on days when you are going for a perfect top knot. This stuff is really the secret. This is Lulu Organics Hair Powder.

A full-sized mascara! I love when the full-sized product is something you can use daily! YAY! Bonus: There is a built-in mirror on the back of the mascara.

I love how cute all the packaging is!

Lip Butter. Perfect for winter weather.

Body Serum: something I have never tried. But, I have been known to fall in love with new products in my Birchbox before, so I am hoping for the same with this

A discount code for flats? Perfect.

Obviously I can't get enough of Birchbox. What a great idea!
