feb day twenty nine: something you're listening to

My ipod.

Love this thing.

feb day twenty seven: something you ate

I decided to switch it up a little for lunch today.
Instead of my boring sandwich and a bag of chips, I grabbed this pasta salad at Trader Joe's last night. What an amazing decision that was. I am in love with this lunch. It was delicious and filling and had just enough spice to make me fall in love. I will definitely be purchasing this again in the future.

feb day twenty six: night

Last night was Oscar night.
What better way to celebrate than with homemade pizza and milkshakes from Baskin Robbins? We went to Trader Joes earlier in the day and got everything we needed to make our own pizza-- even fresh dough! Then we came home, made it and watched a bit of the red carpet. We then went and got dessert before settling in for a lovely night of tv.
Perfect little night if you ask me.

feb day twenty five: green

Saturday was a lazy day until about three pm. We went shopping for some new clothes for Brad. We ended up spending quite some time in the men's department but he got some great new clothes at some great prices. I love picking out men's clothes.
After our shopping adventure, we went somewhere green for dinner but I was too distracted by breadsticks to take a picture. I LOVE the Olive Garden. I don't care what anyone says, it's amazing.

feb day twenty four: inside your bathroom cabinet

One of my favorite things about old houses are the built in cabinets and shelves in the walls throughout all the rooms in the house. Sadly, our old house is not equipped with those. The only cabinet in my yellow bathroom is the medicine cabinet-- and even that does not have shelves! Clearly, I am not a fan of my bathroom. Especially the swans on the shower doors.
Because there is not much to photograph in a medicine cabinet, I did my best to make the photo a little artistic. I took photos from different angles and thought the different camera filters jazzed it up a bit.

feb day twenty three: your shoes

Today is a beautiful sunny day in the District of Columbia! It is almost 70 degrees out and hardly any humidity. I love Spring days like today. The only kind of foot apparel to wear on a day like this: flip flops. I know I get made fun of for wearing them all the time, even when it is freezing outside, but today is definitely a flip flop day.

feb day twenty two: where you work

Today's photo is where you work.
I love this picture but it does not do my building justice. The building I work in is so pretty! Glass ceiling, palm trees, lots of sunlight. I just love it! Most people probably don't think twice about the actual building they work in but I am so happy when I walk in every day. It is beautiful and everyone who works for the building is so friendly.
I am so lucky to work in such a great place!

feb day twenty one: a fav photo of you

This photo is not necessarily a favorite photo of ME, but it is one of my favorite photos.

Brad and I took this photo in Central park last year. It was his first trip to NYC and we had a blast. It was snowing and freezing the whole time but we had so much fun. I loved taking him to a new city and showing him all of the sites. I can't wait until we go back.

Looking at this picture just makes me smile.

feb day twenty: handwriting

I have been dreading today's photo ever since I saw it on the list. Handwriting. I hate my handwriting. I wish had really girly, fun handwriting. I clearly don't.
At least it is in purple, right?

Photo a Day Challenge: MARCH

Get excited.

feb day nineteen: something you hate to do

Today's photo: something you hate to do.
Something I hate: losing my cell phone.

I have been really good at losing it lately. Last weekend, we were at Target and I noticed during checkout that I had somehow lost my phone while we were in the store. I was freaking out about it and starting going back to every isle looking for my phone. I was convinced that it was gone forever. Then, I met Brad up at the front of the store only to find out that my mom had called him and said some random person called her to tell her that they were leaving my phone at the customer service desk at Target. THANK YOU to the person who returned my phone. I love knowing there are still good people in the world.

Thennnnn last night, we went out in DC with a couple of friends (see post below). Our friend Annie dropped us off on U Street around 9pm. We went inside the bar and I realized about 30 minutes later that I did not have my phone. I started panicking. I checked my purse, my jacket, my pockets-- It was nowhere to be found. Then, Brad called Annie and LUCKILY my phone was on the backseat of her car.
Who loses their phone TWICE in one week? Me.
I am so so happy that she found it. I made it 20 hours without my phone. I was so happy to go pick it up this afternoon!
At least I know I CAN live without my phone… it's just not as fun.
But back to the photo, that is our home phone. I hate using it when I have no other option. Definitely going to try to stop losing my phone in the future.

feb day eighteen: drink

I waited around all day yesterday to take a picture of something to drink other than water. Sadly, I only had water over the course of the day. Then, last night, we went to DC to meet up with some friends to watch the Michigan basketball game. I decided to have a beer at the house before we left. Beer is always more fun to drink with a Caps koozie.

feb day seventeen: time

Today's photo: The Old Post Office, Downtown DC

I love this building. I think it is such a cool old building. It is beautiful and when walking by it today, I remembered that there is a clock on it- perfect for today's photo of the day.
The architecture and everythign is just so pretty. This may be one of my favorite buildings in DC.
I had never been to the top of the tower until last February when mom came to town for vacay. We went on a VIP tour of the monuments and we ended up at the old post office for lunch. We inhaled some Indian food and then went to the top for a photo session. This building always makes me think of her when I walk by.

feb day sixteen: something new

As I mentioned earlier this week, I bought a couple of new bracelets. I was hoping to go buy a few more at lunch today but ended up at Roti with Colleen and Pouy. Lunch was a much better idea.
This is a picture of one of the bracelets I purchased on Monday. It makes me think of Summer... just a few more months!

feb day fifteen: phone

It's really hard to take a picture of your iPhone... with your iPhone.
So, for today's photo, I grabbed a quick pic of the phone at the doctor's office this morning. No cool story here other than the fact that I took a picture of a phone I have never touched.

feb day fourteen: heart

Yesterday was Valentine's day-- one of my favorite days of the year! Nothing is better than a holiday full of pink and hearts and love. It is one of those love/ hate holidays and I am defintely a fan.
I took a picture of Reese's hearts: Brad's favorite candy.
I picked them up at lunch and then decorated the packaging during the afternoon. I also made him a card full of hearts but I did not take a picture. I gave him the package prior to dinner at the Hibachi restaurant. Dinner was amazing.
I would say yesterday may rank as my favorite Valentine's day ever.
Oh, and after dinner I walked into surprise flowers on my nightstand.

feb day thirteen: blue

The reason I chose my blue Brighton box today is because I am on a new kick of buying jewelry. I have decided I need some new accessories in my life and today was day one of new bling. I dragged Kristin to Macy's at lunch today in hopes of finding some cute new bracelets. It was quite a successful adventure. I found two really cute new bracelets and a pair of earrings. They aren't blue or else they would be today's photo.
I still want to search for more fun accessories so if anyone has any great websites or ideas, please let me know! I was so insprired by all the cute accessories everyone had this past week so hopefully I can find some that compare.

feb day twelve: inside your closet

Today's photo: inside your closet.

I flew home from Arizona last night and my life needs some organization before heading back to work tomorrow. This photo clearly shows that. I need to finish unpacking, do laundry, get groceries and get back to real life. It is also kind of a sad photo because which is capturing my mood so well.
Coming back to real life, cold weather and responsibility is so depresssing. I would much rather live in a hotel, in 80 degree weather and not have to worry about a thing.
Coming home from vacation is never fun, but I really wish I could be back in the sun with some of my favorite ladies.

3 weeks until they get here.

feb day eleven: makes you happy

There are so many different things that I could use to show something that "makes me happy" but I decided to stick with my theme of warmth and sunshine.
I truly love being by the pool so I decided to use this for today's picture. Laying around the pool in Arizona was the most relaxing part of my trip-- even though it was only for a short time. Just laying in the sun, feet in the water.
That is my true definition of happiness.
