One trend I am still hestitant to try: mixing patterns. I tried mixing a flower pattern and polka dots here and loved the end result yet have not been very confident when mixing patterns since. This past weekend, I bought a few (read: way too many) striped shirts. I think that with simple colors, the stripes become such a neutral and can be paired with just about anything. I wanted to debut my striped shirt collection by pairing one of the shirts with a fancy skirt that adds so much to a simple black and white top.

Kirna Zabete for Target

Lately I have been very intrigued by the collections coming out of Target. (I am currently anticipating the collaboration with Neiman Marcus that comes out on December 1st.) When I first saw the Kirna Zabete collection at Target, I fell in love. I wanted to buy so many of the pieces because they were so bright and cheerful, yet so affordable! I held off for a few weeks because any routine Target shopper knows that everything goes on sale quickly.
So, this past weekend, while picking up a few groceries, I stopped by the clearance section in Target. What a goldmine! All of the pieces I fell in love with weeks ago were up to 50% off! I grabbed this skirt in my size and knew I scored! I love this skirt so much and think it may be one of my new favorites! The color is perfect and it amazingly comfortable! I could not be happier with this purchase.
Also, with the crummy weather outside, I have been reading a lot of blog posts about taking indoor photos. I took a stab at some this morning but am not overly impressed with how they turned out. Do you have any secrets to indoor photography? I would love to hear your tips!
