Cloth and Stone

So... this is my new favorite shirt and I apologize in advance if every time you see me for the next few weeks I am wearing it. It is seriously the SOFTEST, most comfortable shirt of all time. I wore this super comfy outfit earlier this week for a quick work trip to Utah. I wanted to be comfortable on the plane and stay warm with all of the rain we were having. I ended up pairing all of this with a cozy grey sweater on the plane and I am pretty sure this is one of the best travel outfits I have ever put together. If you plan on spending any time on a plane in the next few months, I seriously recommend buying this shirt.

The Girl in the Yellow Coat

Top: Banana Republic  Necklace: Stella and Dot  Jacket: Target similar here  Hat: H&M  Boots: Target  Tights: Poof! similar here  Skirt: Forever 21

It's no secret that this coat stole my heart at the end of last year (see here) and it's amazing to me that it's made so few appearances on the blog. I tend to wear this coat just about every day lately, except when it's snowing... like today. We are expecting up to 8 inches here in DC. We will see if that actually plays out, but here's to hoping for another snow day tomorrow. Nothing beats spending at day at home in pjs... even if I am still working.

One of my favorite things about cold weather is the option to wear warm over-sized sweaters. One of my favorite combinations (especially on the weekends) is a pair of tights and a big sweater. It is the ultimate comfort outfit and is ideal for running errands. Plus, when it is really cold, you can just throw on a coat and that's all you need. Well, maybe a pair of gloves too.

Thrifted Jacket

As I've mentioned here and here, discovering great pieces at a thrift store is one of my favorite things to do. This coat is no exception. A few months ago, I came across this coat at my local thrift store with the original tags on. It was my size and the right price: $6. I couldn't believe the bargain as I had purchased a few CAbi items before moving to DC and they were nowhere near that cheap. I love the quality of this brand and am so happy to have found a fun coat to add to my ever-growing collection.

I am spending today at home as the entire city seems to be shutting down with the hurricane outside. I hope everyone stays safe and doesn't lose power during this storm!
