Happy August! It is so hard to believe that we are so far into 2012!

I wanted to wear another simple outfit (it seems to be the theme of the week) but decided to dress it up a little with this Stella and Dot necklace. I can't get enough of their statement necklaces! I only own a few but plan on purchasing many more in the future.

Floral Skirt

I have been searching for a cute black and white floral skirt for awhile now, so I was quite excited when I stumbled upon this skirt from The Limited. It is just the right length for the look I wanted-- plus, it can go with just about everything. I originally purchased it in hopes of pairing it with contrasting bright colors, but this morning I just felt like keeping it simple with a black and white outfit. I think next time I wear this skirt I will pair it with a bright top and a belt. So many options!

Chambray Dress-up

Since I started my new job, I have been trying to think of ways to dress up a chambray shirt for the workplace. I also have been wanting to pair a necklace with a brooch. Today seemed like a good day for combining all of the above. At first I thought it might be a little over the top, but for some reason I loved the random brooch with the black skirt. By the end of the day, I really loved this outfit. I cannot wait to experiment with more creative fashion ideas soon.

Arm Party

With hot weather back in our forecast, a dress is a must for the work day. Sometimes I like to switch up my arm party and wear it with a simple dress. I love the way jewelry can dress up an outfit and add so much to a solid-color dress. Plus, sometimes I like to wear some of my silver jewelry as I have been wearing my gold so often lately.

Just Can't Wait

When I spotted this dress I immediately thought how great it would be in the fall with tights, boots, a belt and sweater-- however, I just couldn't wait until fall to pull it out of my closet. I love everything about this dress: the fun pattern on the bottom, the amazing neckline and the cinched waist! It is such a great dress! In order to dress it up a little for work, I paired it with a statement necklace, heels and a bold belt. I also wore a sweater with it in the office. This dress is so comfortable and I can't wait to wear it again with different accessories in the future.

First Day

Yesterday was my first day of work at my new job. Picking out an outfit for a first day can be so stressful. Luckily, my friend Ashley was still in town to help me out. We decided you can't go wrong with a little black dress and a summer blazer.
