Work Wear: Best Dressed Edition

best dressed in the office

Top/ Skirt/ Earrings/ Bag/ iPad case/ Watch/ Heels

I could not have been more excited when I saw this week's theme for Friday's Fancies because I am the girl that has to dress up for work every day. Well, we can wear jeans on Fridays, but the other 80% of the time we have to be in work apparel. I can't wait to see what other ideas I find in the link-up because I am always looking for new work inspiration.

I am absolutely loving the look above. It is simple and classy and can easily take you from one season to the next. And because I have a thing for leopard accents these days, I had to throw in the leopard iPad case. I mean, what would this NOT go with?

I am also dreaming of owning those Louboutin heels some day.
A girl has to have goals, right?

Statement Necklace At Work

Dress: The Limited Similar Style  Necklace: Stella and Dot  Sunglasses: Ray-Ban  Shoes: Guess

Some days a girl just needs a simple dress and a statement necklace.
Today is one of those days.
It is almost 80 degrees outside which makes it harder to dress for fall. I pulled out one of my old (favorite) dresses for a simple look for any time of year. I love how classic this dress is but think it is even better with a bold necklace.

Bubble Necklace

I have been really into my new bubble necklace lately that finally came in the mail last week. I ordered it months ago and could not wait for it to arrive. Now that it is here, I seem to want it in every color. I feel like this necklace can be worn with just about anything, plus, it adds a pop of color to every outfit-- especially a simple outfit like the one I paired it with today.

Color blocking: Round 2

As I have said before, I am a huge fan of this color blocking trend. I think it is because it adds so much to a simple look, especially with the neon in this sweater. I love how it stands out against the rest of my grey outfit. Plus, it may be one of the more comfortable outfits I have worn in weeks.
What do you think of this trend? Love it? Hate it?

Spot On

I couldn't help but fall in love with this colorful polka dotted top. I love how bright and cheerful it is! It was perfect for my first day back at work after a long vacation.

A Bright Start to the Week

It took me awhile, but I finally became obsessed with the baggy shirt look. I can't seem to get enough of it lately. I love the way these shirts look tucked in with skirts and just flowing loosely over pants. I seem to love them no matter what they are paired with.
When I bought this shirt, I planned on wearing with with suits and skirts. I pulled out these pants this morning and loved the casual look. Although, I decided to throw on some heels to dress up the outfit a bit for the work place.

How to Wear Houndstooth

Top: Mossimo   Skirt: The Limited  Bag: Coach  Shoes: Via Spiga  Bracelet: Stella and Dot

Recently, I have been really into skirts-- especially those with lots of color and/or patterns. I started looking for a black and white skirt a few months ago and found this. I love that skirt because of how versatile it is-- so I wanted to find more black and white options. I came across this houndstooth one and it was exactly what I was looking for. I love this pattern because of how incredibly versatile it is. Plus, it really plays into my recent obsession with patterns.
The best part of houndstooth is you can really wear it with anything. Because the pattern is small and the colors are simple, it can go with just about any color (and maybe even another pattern!) I am still new to the world of mixing patterns (as seen here) but hopefully next time I wear this I can switch it up a little with another pattern in the mix.

Skirting Around

Lately I have been trying to wear more colors, especially before the end of Summer. I found this skirt this past weekend and fell in love. I wasn't sure I could pull off the colors but I thought it was perfect as soon as I tried it on. I love how busy and bright it is. I can't wait to wear it with boots this Fall! Clearly I am counting down the days until cooler weather, sweaters and pumpkin spice lattes.

A Little Bit Wild

I recently came across a blog that featured animal print apparel every day for a week. I am not a huge fan of animal print... unless it is in small doses. That blog inspired me to bring a little bit of leopard into my outfit today. I wanted to keep the rest of my outfit simple so it didn't look too busy. I love scarves so much and I am so excited I found a way to bring them into the workplace.
