DC Fashion

washington dc

Sweater: Mango  Pants: Love Culture  Purse: Kate Spade  Necklace: Pret-a-beaute  Hat: 2B

Trying to define DC style can be impossible at times. DC is commonly known for lots of black (think suits, umbrellas, dress pants) and is also known for terribly-dressed tourists. I'm lookin' at you, Mr. Fanny Pack. Anywho, one of the things I do love about DC's unique style is that many people don't know what a thriving fashion scene we have here. I put together one of my favorite fall looks above: tribal sweater, faux leather leggings, a fun hat, etc., but I really want to mention some of the great fashion resources available to us here in the DC metro area.
And if I miss something, pleaaaase let me know in the comments.

Wednesday Wishlist

How cute would this top be with skinny jeans, heels and a black blazer?
I love the look of graphic tees with blazers (as seen here).
How would you style this shirt from one2wear?

Black and Blue

Top: The Limited Similar Style  Pants: Gap  Shoes: Jessica Simpson  Watch: Michael Kors  Bracelet: Stella and Dot

With the temperatures dropping back into the 80s this week, I decided I would pull out one of my favorite pairs of pants. I love the slim pants from the Gap (yes, I own many pairs) and just love wearing them with fancy tanks. I am not sure why, but I love this combo. It is so comfortable and great for the office. Plus, it even looks good with a sweater when it gets too cool indoors.

First Day

Dress: Casual Corner Similar Style  Blazer: Ann Taylor LOFT Similar Style  Shoes: Jessica Simpson  Watch: Michael Kors  Bracelet: Stella and Dot

Yesterday was my first day of work at my new job. Picking out an outfit for a first day can be so stressful. Luckily, my friend Ashley was still in town to help me out. We decided you can't go wrong with a little black dress and a summer blazer.
What do you think is a good first day outfit?

Don't forget to enter my giveaway for a Stella and Dot bracelet!

Staycation

Top: BCBG Maxazria  Shorts: Zara  Shoes: Aldo  Sunglasses: Ray-Ban  Watch: Michael Kors  Bracelets: Stella and Dot  Necklace: Stella and Dot

Yesterday was the last day of my staycation. I decided to celebrate the end of a great week with my favorite neon flats and a visit from an old friend. One of my favorite people from school came to visit and I had such a great time catching up with her. Nothing beats sitting around chatting with old friends.
Hope you had a great weekend!

Mint Clutch

Top: Ann Taylor Similar Style  Shorts: Abercrombie and Fitch  Shoes: Steve Madden  Clutch: Gigee Marie  Bracelets: Stella and Dot  Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

With the high temperatures we have had the past few days, I have had very little motivation, especially because I have had the week off work. I have spent most of this week laying around, running errands and taking care of Brad after surgery. It has been a very relaxing week but I am excited to get back into a routine next week.
A couple of weeks ago I ordered a clutch online from Gigee Marie. I found her website through the CapFABB network and was so excited when I stumbled upon it. I saw this bag in mint and knew I had to have it. I think it can go with just about anything-- I love it!
Hope you are staying cool this weekend!
