Okay, here it is... the one shirt I have been dying to own for years. I know that people rave about Equipment blouses and now I totally understand what all of the hype is about. I think I would have worn this shirt every day for the past week but, letsbehonest, it's silk, and it's rained every. single. day. this week. Ew. Also, I am pretty sure it would have been frowned upon to wear this shirt each day to my 10 year high school reunion we had over the weekend.

After spending this past weekend out in the middle of the desert in Nevada, I came hope with a whole new appreciation for my home state. I spent the weekend at Night in the Country which is a weekend-long music festival full of camping, sunshine, music and drinks. It was my first time attending and I loved every minute of it. Even though we had to go days without showering, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. I came home on Sunday morning to find this beautiful necklace in my mailbox... just one more thing to remind me about how much I love this place.

Summer Waves

Top: Old Navy  Skirt: Nordstrom  Shoes: Sam Edelman  Hat: Charming Charlie similar here  Watch: Michael Kors  Bracelets: Stella and Dot and J.Crew similar here  Necklace: J.Crew Factory identical here

Happy Monday! I caught an early, early flight home this morning and am already wishing I was back on the beach soaking up the sun. Nothing is better than a weekend getaway by the water. Days of air-dried hair, throwing on a hat and some light makeup are my favorite. I'm already looking forward to another trip to California soon.

Gold-Trimmed

Top: J.Crew  Skirt: J.Crew similar here  Shoes: Sam Edelman  Sunglasses: American Eagle Outfitters  Watch: Michael Kors  Bracelet: The Limited similar here  Rings: gifted

It's no big secret 'round here that I am obbbsessed with gold and this outfit is completely decked out in my favorite go-to color. I spotted this top at J.Crew a few days ago and knew it was exactly what I needed for these super hot days. It goes with 99% of the other pieces in my wardrobe, plus it's linen, which is ideal this season. I mean, we are hitting 100+ degrees everyday so it only makes sense to throw on linen and a skirt just about every time I leave the house. Also, this top makes it extra easy because I don't even have to think about a necklace. Perfecto!

Pineapple Print

Top: Target love this one  Skirt: Target now only $15!  Shoes: Sam Edelman  Clutch: J.Crew  Bracelets: flea market and Macy's similar here  Necklace: Stella and Dot  Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

Lately I have been all about the pineapple prints I have seen on others and finally took the plunge when I picked up this tank a few weeks ago at Target. I wasn't sure how it would fit (confession: I hate trying on clothes) but have grown to love it more and more every time I wear it. I have worn it at least three times in the past week and was so excited to pair it with a maxi for a night out with my girls at the movies. It seems to be perfect for just about every occasion lately-- whether I pair it with shorts, a skirt or over a bathing suit for a day by the water.

Hope you had a great long weekend!

Summer Style

Dress: Roxy similar here  Vest: Forever 21  Shoes: Sam Edelman  Bracelets: Stella and Dot and Alex and Ani here and here  Necklace: Stella and Dot  Sunglasses: Ray-Ban  Lip Color: Buxom

Last summer I couldn't get enough of this denim vest and this year is looking to be no different. Denim vests are a great way to completely change the look of any outfit. This dress is actually strapless and a perfect beach coverup... but with the right vest, it transforms the look into something perfect for an afternoon BBQ or drinks with some friends. I actually put this outfit together last week for a friend's birthday and loved how simple the entire look was. Plus, it was great because it was so light and the weather was so hot. Sadly, it's cooled down a bit and the wind has been non-stop.

Have you picked up a denim vest yet?

As I mentioned on Instagram the other day, I finally found the heart-shaped sunglasses I have been looking for. I didn't realize how hard it was to find a pair with gold frames and darker lenses. Thanks to American Eagle, I finally have what I was looking for. Yay! They are the perfect accessory for this summer and I can't wait to wear them everywhere-- especially during all of my travels over the next few weeks.

Also, in case you missed my big announcement yesterday, I hope to see all you Reno folks at my event next Thursday! Check out the details here.

Work-Blog Balance

Dress: Forever 21 love this one!  Shoes: Sam Edelman  Necklace: J.Crew Factory similar here  Bag: Target similar here  Bracelets: Flea Market find and Stella and Dot  Watch: Michael Kors  Earrings: J.Crew Factory similar here  Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs love these!

Today I want to pose a discussion question, rather than some random story about how crazy my life has been lately. (Some day soon I may share the story of missing my flight home on Tuesday, but we will leave that for another time.) Today I want to chat about how you, or other bloggers, balance their schedules. I am finding that this summer is far busier than summers in the past and I am worried about being able to get everything done on time.

For example, I have three trips coming up in the next few weeks, two of which run into each other meaning I won't be home for over a week. Plus, I have my real job, catching up with friends, dinners, and more.

So, how do you keep everything in balance? Do you have a monthly blog schedule? Do you set aside a time every day to blog? Do you schedule your posts weekly? I have heard of a variety of ways to keep blog posts consistent but I would love to hear what works best for you.

Please let me know in the comments.
