Lazy Weekend

cozy weekend, slippers, pajamas, tea, scarf, robe, fashion blog, style blog

Between staying up late, busy days and lots of meetings, this week has been nothing short of crazy. Because I know that this weekend is going to be a continuation of the craziness, I am already counting down the hours until next weekend when I can spend time curled up on my couch, in my new cozy robe (I know, I'm a grandma) and watch hours and hours of football.

Last weekend's cold rainy weather made me want to do nothing but lie around, but I had too many things on the agenda to sit around. Let's hope nothing gets in the way of a lazy weekend next week.

Cooler Weather

The weather this weekend was much cooler than it has been and it could not have been more welcomed. I was so excited to pull out this pair of black jeans and wear them with this cozy sweater. Getting that taste of fall has me so excited for the upcoming months.

Because the weather wasn't ideal for the pool, I decided to catch up on some tv I have missed over the past few months (years?) and I began watching Homeland. I successfully watched the first season over the weekend and am anxious about starting the next one as soon as possible. Do you watch Homeland?  I recommend you start watching asap.

On Sunday, we had a surprise brunch for Brad's 30th birthday. While his birthday is still a week away, it was so fun to celebrate with friends because he will be gone next weekend. I am so happy we pulled it off without him finding out!

I hope you had a fabulous weekend as well!

Memorial Day Attire

I could not be more excited for the upcoming three day weekend. While we are not heading out of town, I am looking forward to a few days of perfect weather, cookouts and catching up with friends.
Something about Memorial Day Weekend and the start of summer screams patriotism to me. I love pulling out everything red, white, blue (and gold!) that I own and rocking it to every backyard bbq we visit. My ideal weekend is full of laughs, sunshine, and lots of American flags. Oh, and lots of funky gold jewelry.
Have a great three day weekend!

Easy, Breezy Weekend Wear

easy weekend wear

Top: J.Crew  Jeans: 7 for all Mankind  Sandals: Havaianas  Bag: Tory Burch  Necklace: Monsoon  Sunglasses: Moscot  Bottle: CamelBak  Hat: BCBG

With weekend wear on my mind every Friday, pulling an outfit together for this week's Friday's Fancies post was easy as pie. If you ever run into me on the weekend (probably at the grocery store or wandering the isles at Target) 9 times out of 10, you will find me in the above outfit. I am usually wandering around in a pair of skinny jeans (7s or JOE's are my fave) and a plain tee. Sometimes I will even get a little crazy and wear a bold color. Kidding. Sort of. Jeans + a white tee is one of my favorite looks and I somehow find a way to wear a variation of this every single weekend. Plus, with a fun bag, comfy sandals and my favorite water bottle, I am all set… and ready to buy more.
What is your favorite piece to wear on the weekend?

Summer Stripes

Top: Banana Republic  Shorts: Banana Republic  Watch: Michael Kors  Shoes: Jessica Simpson  Ring: Stella and Dot  Necklace: Stella and Dot  Bracelet: Vintage  Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

Blue and white stripes are one of my favorite summer looks. I chose this casual outfit for an afternoon of running errands and then heading over to a friend's house in the city for some champagne on the patio. I normally would have gotten a little more dressed up for an evening out but it was so hot all weekend and after a full week of dressing up for work, I really wanted some shorts and sandals in my life. I love how comfortable shorts can be! I used to hate shorts but recently began loving them-- too bad I can only wear them a few days a week.
