Lazy Weekend

cozy weekend, slippers, pajamas, tea, scarf, robe, fashion blog, style blog

Between staying up late, busy days and lots of meetings, this week has been nothing short of crazy. Because I know that this weekend is going to be a continuation of the craziness, I am already counting down the hours until next weekend when I can spend time curled up on my couch, in my new cozy robe (I know, I'm a grandma) and watch hours and hours of football.

Last weekend's cold rainy weather made me want to do nothing but lie around, but I had too many things on the agenda to sit around. Let's hope nothing gets in the way of a lazy weekend next week.

The Past Few Days

I feel like every Monday has been starting off with "I had such a great weekend!" and this week is no different. Friday had a little more excitement than normal because I flew down to Vegas for work for the day. It was a great way to wrap up a busy, yet short, week. After spending the day getting updates and learning from my boss, I was able to sneak in a couple of beers with a friend before heading back to town. I came home and fell asleep by 10:30pm. Grandma status for sure.

I woke up early on Saturday and wandered around my neighborhood garage sale with my madre. We sipped coffee while I found some great deals. I snagged a great wine rack for $5 and then a bookcase and coffee table. I combined the two and made a great new coffee table for my living room. Right now the only photo is on Instagram. Saturday evening my new dining chairs were delivered so my dad came over for some father-daughter bonding to help me put the chairs together. I am so happy I finally finished putting my house together this weekend!

Sunday was another great day up at Tahoe and I successfully only got sunburned on one shoulder. Woo hoo! I then decided to cook an elaborate meal for Sunday family dinner and then continued with my latest tv obsession: Arrested Development.

Sorry I don't have an outfit post for you today, but hopefully my fave picture from Tahoe yesterday will hold you over until tomorrow!
Hope your weekend was fabulous!

Wedding Weekend

Dress: Lilly Pulitzer Similar Style  Shoes: Marc Fisher  Bracelet: Stella and Dot

This past weekend we flew up to Michigan to see some of our good friends get married. It was a beautiful wedding in a gorgeous location. I have been anticipating this wedding for months and was so happy to be a part of their special day.
I found this Lilly dress a few months ago and fell in love. I immediately ordered it so I would have it in time. It is the perfect summer wedding dress (and it's Michigan colors!).
Hope you had a great weekend!

Memorial Day in Michigan

I am finally back at a computer and able to post some photos from this past weekend. We went up to a small town in Northern Michigan where we had no computers and no phone service. It was so nice to get away for a few days. We spent time boating on the lake, sitting around the campfire and relaxing in the hammock. It was a perfect holiday weekend and I cannot wait to go back. Here are just some of the pictures from our trip:

The cabin where we stayed.

The lake.

The trees-- I can't get over how big and beautiful all of the trees were.

The bald eagle nest above the house. It is a little hard to see in this picture.

The lake again.

Sunset.

Travel Day

Top: Banana Republic  Shorts: Zara  Belt: Old Navy  Shoes: Jessica Simpson  Watch: Michael Kors  Sunglasses: Coach

Saturday was a travel day I think it is so important to be comfortable while traveling, especially when you are flying AND driving. With temperatures rising over the weekend, I knew I had to wear shorts. I paired them with this chambray shirt from Banana Republic because I love the look of blue with blue. The contrasting belt matched the shoes and became one of my favorite looks. Blue and gold are classic and it was the perfect outfit to wear when flying into Michigan.

What do you prefer to wear when traveling?

Memorial Maxi

Dress: Banana Republic  Hat: Banana Republic  Shoes: Kensie Girl  Watch: Michael Kors  Bracelet: Stella and Dot  Necklace: Stella and Dot

Nothing is better for a Memorial Day weekend at the lake than a Maxi dress. They are so comfortable and versatile. I love pairing mine with some wedges and spending the evening by the water.

Hope you are having a great holiday weekend!

Holiday Weekend

Dress: Victoria's Secret  Sweater: J.Crew  Shoes: Zappos  Necklace: Stella and Dot  Bangles: Stella and Dot

Are you getting excited for the long holiday weekend? I am. A few days full of fun, friends, the beach and the boyfriend. I can't wait! I woke up in such a good mood today in anticipation of the weekend. I grabbed my favorite sweater, threw it on over a dress, and ran out the door. The color is, by far, my favorite and it just added to my good mood.

I hope you have a great long weekend!
Do you have any fun plans?

new camera

Top: Mossimo  Scarf: Street Vendor  Shorts: UNIQLO Shoes: Steve Madden currently unavailable

Today is the first day with my new camera. I am already in love. I went to Best Buy this morning to get a camera card and started talking to a lady about classes for DSLR cameras. I may look into taking one as many of them take place near the monuments. What a great place to learn about my new camera and take some fun pictures! I am hoping to go use my camera more today and take some pictures in this beautiful weather.

perfect sunday outfit

What a perfect Sunday! The weather has been great and I had a day to myself. I slept in, cleaned up the house and then ran some errands. I also wound up at the outdoor shopping mall this afternoon. It was a great day to walk around outside and pick up a few new things including a fabulous new Kate Spade card case. I grabbed an iced tea and hit all the stores while enjoying the beautiful weather. Now I am looking forward to a quiet evening at home with my boyfriend. Sundays around here are known for great dinners and catching up on tv-- can't wait!

Hope you had a fabulous weekend.

april day eight: easter

Happy Easter!

I hope everyone enjoyed a day full of great food, good drinks, sunshine and amazing company! I sure did-- just got home from a perfect afternoon in the backyard. Days like today make me wish weekends would never end.

Shorts: Zara
Top: Old Navy Similar Style
Belt: Old Navy
Shoes: Anne Klein
Bracelet: Stella and Dot

april day six: jewelry

Top: CAbi
Sweater: Banana Republic Similar Style
Jeans: Joe's
Shoes: TOMS

Happy Friday!

With temperatures down into the the thirties last night, it was time to pull out a sweater to get through the cold morning temperatures. I LOVE the look of button down shirts under sweaters. Adding this classic look to a pair of jeans is the perfect outfit for a cool Friday.

I did want to focus a little more on my jewelry today:

I recently started working as a stylist for Stella and Dot and wanted to show off some of my new jewelry. This ring is my new favorite addition to my collection. I seem to be wearing it almost everyday. Also, the bracelet on the top is the new Autism Awareness bracelet. 20% of the proceeds from each bracelet are donated to Autism Speaks. What a great match! Adorable jewelry AND helping a good cause! If you would like to order one (or anything else on the site) feel free to reach out to me or just check out the website.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

april day one: weekender

Jeans: Rock and Republic
Top: Forever 21 Similar Style
Sweater: Old Navy
Shoes: Kensie Girl

Sundays are for running errands. I threw on this outfit to pick up some groceries, grab some coffee and get ready to head back to work tomorrow. I am still in love with these red pants and they add a little something to this very grey day we are having. I don't really think this outfit is anything special but it is very comfortable and fun for running around town.

While I was running errands, I saw this cute little rest area and had to shoot some photos. It was rather difficult to capture how green and pretty it was but I did my best. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
