Make a Statement

As you can see, yesterday was quite a humid morning here in DC. (I apologize for the picture quality.) I awoke to raindrops falling and very little inspiration for getting ready. One of my favorite ways to battle this lack of inspiration is to throw on a statement necklace. I love the way they steal the show when paired with a solid dress or top. I pulled out this old dress from my closet and instantly knew it was a perfect match. Plus, it was a great way to show off the details of the necklace with my hair pulled up away from my face.

This week's Friday's Fancies theme is April Showers-- something I am hoping we see none of here in DC this upcoming weekend. On Sunday, I am running my first half marathon and could not be more excited, especially if we have nice weather! My mom is in town to cheer me on and I have friends from all over the country flying in to run the big 13.1 with me. I am so excited for a running-filled weekend and can't wait to cross the finish line in just a couple of days.
Oh, and let's be honest, who wouldn't be excited for a Tiffany's necklace at the finish line? Did I mention they are handed out by men in tuxedos?
