Can't Stop Won't Stop

Sorry I'm not sorry that I found another way to wear navy and white. This is, like, five or more days in a row. Oops. At least I know my favorite color palette this season, right? I also paired this outfit with one of my favorite clutches from Gigee Marie. The color can't be beat and looks fabulous next to white and navy. I am so glad I bought this purse a few years ago.

Also, please excuse the random yellow tint in the photos above. I was rushing while taking my photos and clearly screwed up the color balance. Oops. I guess that is what happens when your neighbor comes home to find you taking photos in front of their garage.
Ugh, so embarrassing.

High Low Dress

Lately I have seen high low dresses all over the place and have been trying to figure out if it was really something I wanted to invest in. I wasn't sure I was into the hemline and have been waiting to see if this style sticks around. While getting ready for work yesterday, I found this dress hanging in my closet only to realize it has a high low hemline. I can't believe I bought this dress years ago, wore it once, and then threw it back in my closet.
After rediscovering this dress, I have a new appreciation for high low hemlines. I think they are so fun to wear around because the front is kind of edgy while the back is romantic and sexy. I am loving how different the dress looks from different angles and hope to add more dresses with this hemline to my wardrobe.
How do you feel about high low dresses?

Wearing White

I bought this white dress years ago and can't believe how versatile it has been! I never thought I would get so much use out of a white dress. I tend to pull it out of my closet each year around the 4th. There is  just something about this dress that makes me feel patriotic.

I wore this dress last week just as the extrememly hot weather hit us here in DC. Light cotton dresses are the only way to go when the heat index is over 100.

Thanks to everyone who entered my Shabby Apple gift card giveaway! The lucky winner is Elizabeth Elliot! I will be sending you an email shortly-- congrats, girl!

Black and White and Mint

Top: J.Crew  Pants: Gap  Shoes: Via Spiga  Bag: Gigee Marie  Watch: Michael Kors  Sunglasses: Ray-Ban  Cuff: ℅ Color by Amber  Necklace: J.Crew

It's no secret that I adore black and white outfits. Something about the simple colors strikes a chord with me. I wanted to keep today's outfit very simple when wearing my new cuff from Color by Amber. I received it weeks ago and had trouble finding just the right look to pair with it. Because I didn't want the cuff to compete for attention, I chose an old standby: black and white. I think it really makes the cuff stand out and you can focus on the detail, rather than the rest of the outfit.
I am a big fan of letting accessories do the talking, which is why I pulled out one of my favorite clutches. I snagged this mint number last summer from Gigee Marie and think it does not get nearly enough screen time on the blog. It is fabulously made and I love taking it out for the night or running some errands around town. If you have never seen one of these bags, I definitely suggest checking them out. You won't regret your purchase.

Happy Monday!
I always think that one of the best ways to face a Monday is to keep thinking about the great weekend you just had. This past weekend, one of my friends had a birthday so we all went out in the city to celebrate. I am a big fan of birthdays and had a great time! We went to dinner downtown and then out for the night on U Street.
I remembered that a few months ago I bought this leather skirt (a deal too good to pass up!) and had yet to wear it. I knew there would come a time that I would really want a fancy skirt to dress up my outfit. This seemed like the perfect occasion.
What do you think of my birthday outfit?

Mint Clutch

With the high temperatures we have had the past few days, I have had very little motivation, especially because I have had the week off work. I have spent most of this week laying around, running errands and taking care of Brad after surgery. It has been a very relaxing week but I am excited to get back into a routine next week.
A couple of weeks ago I ordered a clutch online from Gigee Marie. I found her website through the CapFABB network and was so excited when I stumbled upon it. I saw this bag in mint and knew I had to have it. I think it can go with just about anything-- I love it!
Hope you are staying cool this weekend!
