Top Knot

Although the weather this past weekend was relatively perfect, the humidity last week was terrible. I am starting to learn to check the humidity percentage before getting out of bed and this past Friday was definitely a top knot kind of a day.

I wasn't a huge fan of top knots until recently when I tried this new Osis powder. There is something about the powder that I love and hate all at the same time. I hate the way it makes my hands feel while applying it, yet I LOVE the results with my hair. It makes my hair feel like I just got out of the ocean, only cleaner. I plan on buying more of this powder when it runs out because I have started using it on a daily basis to give my hair more texture.

Have you ever tried texturizing hair powders? What are some of your favorites?

One of the best things about the warmer weather is the ability to wear bright colors… and white. I have always thought white pencil skirts were so classic and I was thrilled to snag this one a couple of weeks ago. They can be worn in so many ways and are a perfect staple for the summer.
I went outside to take photos of my outfit last week and was excited to see I had company. If you look closely in the photos, you can see a little bunny in the grass. Seeing bunnies around the neighborhood is one of my favorite things about where we live. It is like having a little piece of the suburbs here in the city.

As I mentioned yesterday, this past weekend was my birthday. For my birthday every year, my grandpa typically sends me a card with money inside. This year, he decided to switch things up and give me birthday money while I was home for Thanksgiving. I was so excited to have my birthday present early because I began planning what to buy on Black Friday. I was so excited to come across this bag on the Rebecca Minkoff website that day and I instantly purchased it. I have been wanting this bag for a long time now and I am so happy to be it's proud new owner. It is a perfect size for just about everything.
Thank you, grandpa!

As you may have noticed, I am wearing my new (favorite!) pair of glasses. I ordered them about a week ago and could not wait for them to arrive!
I was so excited when Firmoo reached out to me about getting a new pair of glasses. I typically don't wear my glasses that often because I never really fell in love with my frames. I tend to miss my old glasses a lot. When Firmoo presented this opportunity, I was so excited to try out a new pair.
Firmoo offers prescription and fashion glasses at affordable prices. I think this is great because glasses can be so pricey! (I think my last pair was close to $500 before insurance-- how crazy!) I love that they make affordable frames so everyone can afford a stylish pair!
Honestly, I have worn these glasses every day since the day they arrived. I am in love with them! I have been wearing these glasses everywhere: to the movies, to a friend's house, running errands, to work and more! I can't get enough of them! I was really hesitant to order online but I can't express how easy it was. I am so happy with my new glasses!
Right now, Firmoo is offering new customers, their first pair free! You only need to pay the shipping. What a deal! I highly suggest trying them out. And who wouldn't want free glasses?

With the cold, crummy weather officially here, I have decided I prefer wearing my hair up when the weather gets worse. It really should be the opposite, as my hair keeps me warmer, but I have really fallen in love with wearing my hair up (as seen here and here). I feel like I used to be so creative with my hair and lately it is either all up or all down.
Do you have a go-to hair style?

After a long week, today could not come fast enough. In my opinion, a simple black and white outfit with a colorful scarf and a top knot is a perfect way start the weekend. This look is one of my all time favorites. Skinny pants + a simple shirt and a fun scarf. It is definitely my go-to in the winter. I live in it on the weekends, especially with skinny jeans. It is so versatile and can be dressed up or down.
Do you have any fun plans for the weekend?
