Neon + Neutrals

Dress: Amanda Uprichard  Tights: HUE  Boots: Frye  Sweater: J.Crew  Scarf: similar here  Bracelet: Kate Spade  Watch: Michael Kors  Sunglasses: Pac Sun

One of my favorite pairings of all time has to be neon and neutrals. I think it's something about the way the neon pops against the neutral color. Instead of sticking with just simple black and white, I wanted to pair this neon dress with one of my new favorite neutrals: leopard print. Somehow prints have snuck into the neutral category in my book and I couldn't be more thrilled to wear them on a more routine basis.
Also, this dress was a find a few weeks ago when I attended the Last Call by Neiman Marcus event hosted by Maria.  I saw this dress and it screamed summer brunches to me. But, in my usual fashion of not being able to wait, I decided to pair it with tights and boots and throw it on for what I am hoping is the last of our winter weather.

Classic Leather

So often I forget about my leather jacket hanging in my closet and every time I rediscover it it feels like Christmas. I have loved this jacket since day one and always forget about it when leaving the house. I think the cold temperatures have me reaching for down jackets and extra layers these days and I always forget how warm this coat really is.

I wore this jacket out this past weekend and was surprisingly pretty warm. Pairing it with this scarf was a perfect way to stay warm without layers upon layers.

A Little Bit Wild

Jeans: Gap  Top: J.Crew  Scarf: Street Vendor similar here  Watch: Urban Outfitters (sold out) but very similar here  Bracelets: Stella and Dot here and here, Alex and Ani  Sunglasses: Ray-Ban  Shoes: Guess  Bag: Phillip Lim for Target (sold out)

One of my favorite ways to transition to fall is pulling out my scarf collection. I have somehow accumulated upwards of 30 in the past couple of years and now that the temperatures are cooler in the mornings, it is the perfect time to dig them out of my closet.

This scarf has become one of my favorites in recent months and I still love that I got it for only $5 from a NYC street vendor. Plus, it is just the right amount of wild. I love adding small animal print styles to simple jeans + tee.

Now I  just need a pair of leopard flats and I'm all set for the season.

NOVA Fashion Week

This past Friday, I attended NOVA Fashion Week and was able to see two shows in one evening: AMERICANMADE and Periwinkle. I met up with a few ladies before the show (including Amanda and Cheryl). We grabbed a couple of drinks before heading in to see the pieces. The shows lasted about an hour and a half as one of the originally schedulde designers was unable to make it. I was not really sure what to expect from NOVA Fashion Week but I know that I fell in love with some of the pieces I saw, especially some of the dresses at Periwinkle. I will be sure to have pictures up by tomorrow.
Did you do anything fun this weekend?

I hope everyone had a fabulous night at Fashion's Night Out last night! I am so bummed to have missed it! I have gone the past few years and LOVED it. This just gets me so excited to attend again next year.
Have a great weekend!

I recently came across a blog that featured animal print apparel every day for a week. I am not a huge fan of animal print... unless it is in small doses. That blog inspired me to bring a little bit of leopard into my outfit today. I wanted to keep the rest of my outfit simple so it didn't look too busy. I love scarves so much and I am so excited I found a way to bring them into the workplace.
