Summer Waves

Happy Monday! I caught an early, early flight home this morning and am already wishing I was back on the beach soaking up the sun. Nothing is better than a weekend getaway by the water. Days of air-dried hair, throwing on a hat and some light makeup are my favorite. I'm already looking forward to another trip to California soon.

Fourth of July Prep

Top: Venus Swimwear similar here  Shorts: Lauren Conrad  Shoes: BCBG Paris  Hat: Charming Charlie similar here  Sunglasses: American Eagle Outfitters

We are only a little over a week out from my favorite holiday of the year: Fourth of July. It's no secret that I've been stocking up on patriotic gear and this upcoming holiday will not be in short supply of red, white and blue. I am still trying to figure out my plans for the holiday weekend, but at least I know my wardrobe is ready to go. I plan on wearing my stars and stripes up to the beach and Tahoe and then making a plan to see fireworks.

Tonight is my event at Veritas, can't wait to see y'all there!

Memorial Day Weekend

Happy Tuesday! I hope you had a great long weekend! As I said on Wednesday, I was so excited to pull out my red, white and blue and I definitely wore my share of patriotic clothes. Saturday was spent coordinating furniture moving as I am the new proud owner of a dining room table and then I went off to a BBQ with some friends. Sunday I met up with another group of friends up at Lake Tahoe and then finished up the day with dinner with the family. On Monday, I went to my second crossfit class (yes, I'm dying) and then spent the majority of the day searching for chairs to go with my new table. I ordered some online but am still on a mission to find others that I love. Any suggestions?

Hope you're weekend was fabbbb. Oh, and make sure you enter my giveaway before it's too late!

On Wednesdays, We Wear Dresses

Dress: YA Los Angeles similar here  Shoes: Nine West  Bag: Urban Expressions  Sunglasses: Ray-Ban  Watch: c/o The Watch Company  Bracelets: Stella and Dot and Charming Charlie and vintage  Ring: c/o Berricle

Dresses that can be dressed up or down are one of the best things to fill your closet with. I have worn this dress a variety of ways but I think I like it paired with heels and a clutch best. I wore this to a wedding last summer but paired it with flats for a day at work earlier this week.

Also, can we please talk about the lack of layers in these photos? We had temps reach 70 yesterday. Um, hi... Spring, is that you?

Finally.

I don't know what it is about all these sweaters with animals on them lately but I can't seem to get enough of them. I have fallen in love with so many of them but when I spotted this zebra sweater while I was home over Christmas, I knew it was the one. I mean, it is really bold and a fun way to spice up the first week back at work. I really love how it stands out against the yellow yet picks up the bits of color in my skirt. While not everyone in the office was a huge fan, I plan on getting a lot more wear out of this sweater before the weather warms up.
This sweater would probably even be a great transitional piece with a cute pair of white shorts and some comfy TOMS for an afternoon cruising around town on a Saturday this spring. Dreaming of warm weather is the only way to get through this week. I am definitely not looking forward to today's record cold temperatures.
