A few weeks ago, while prepping for my two weeks of travel including trip back to Washington, DC, I decided that my dress wardrobe needed a little updating. I hit up one of my favorite stores (I'm lookin' at you Banana Republic!) and decided that just one dress wouldn't do for the White House event. So, three dresses later, I walked out of the store, but not before falling in love with each employee there.

My mom and I went to the store just before closing and figured the employees might be annoyed that we came in as they were cleaning up. Wrong. They couldn't have been more helpful and fun. Honestly, I wanted to invite them out for drinks after but I knew I had an early morning the next day.

So, Banana Republic, thanks for always being there for me. I never leave your store unhappy and think that the team in Reno deserves an extra special shoutout today!

Dresses that can be dressed up or down are one of the best things to fill your closet with. I have worn this dress a variety of ways but I think I like it paired with heels and a clutch best. I wore this to a wedding last summer but paired it with flats for a day at work earlier this week.

Also, can we please talk about the lack of layers in these photos? We had temps reach 70 yesterday. Um, hi... Spring, is that you?

Because the weather has been nothing but freezing lately, I've lost my motivation to put together a fancy outfit. Warm + comfortable have been the only things on my mind while getting ready each morning. This simple dress plus my fleece-lined tights totally fit the bill earlier this week. Now, just another day or so of these freezing temps and we will finally be hitting 40  degrees this weekend.

Again, I am soooo ready for spring.

A Bit of Color

Earlier this week, I opened the cutest little red box from Berricle to find this perfect silver ring. I have been wearing so much gold lately that I forgot how much I love silver, especially when paired with sparkly things. I saw this ring on their website and knew it would get so much use with the rest of my jewelry. It is simple, yet a great way to add some sparkle to your outfit. It also can easily pair with gold so I can wear it daily-- whether I am wearing gold or silver. I 've also been wanting to wear this dress for awhile now but each time I pull it out of my closet, something goes wrong. Most days it was just rain in the way but I knew that I couldn't style it the way I had planned. I am obsessed with the neckline on the dress and was so excited to finally add more color to my daily black and white routine.
