Summer Dresses

Nothing is more summery than striped dresses and iced drinks from Starbucks.

Dress: Lilly Pulitzer similar here  Shoes: Target  Necklace: ILY Couture  Bag: Lauren Ralph Lauren similar here  Sunglasses: Ray-Ban  Watch: Michael Kors  Bracelet: Stella and Dot  Rings: gifted

The weather here has been so nice I decided to finally take advantage of it and grab a PTL from Starbucks and work outside a little bit. The sunshine and light breeze was the perfect way to get through a small project.

Also, I bought this dress last summer during one of the online Lilly sales as something to wear over a bathing suit when heading to the beach. I had no idea it could be such a perfect casual dress to wear around town and out to grab pizza with some friends. I am so happy to finally be bare-legged this year.

A Little Lavender

lavender

1/ 2/ 3/ 4/ 5/ 6

Yesterday a friend reached out to me with a dilemma: where can you find a cute statement necklace in lavender? Well, if you have every tried to find something that is lavender and made for someone under the age of 75, you know how hard that can be. I went on a mission to help her find something decent to wear with a LBD. After she and I weighed the pros and cons of each, she ended up ordering #6 above. It should be the perfect amount of lavender and you can't beat the price tag. Although, part of me really wants to order #1 and #3... but I am scared to commit to the color. I know it is a perfect color for spring but I feel like I never really wear purple. Especially lavender.

Are you a fan of lavender? What is your favorite way to wear it?

Oh, and happy Pi day. In case you aren't following me on twitter, here is the amazing video I discovered yesterday.

Windowpane

Top: Target (not available online) similar here  Skirt: similar here  Shoes: Nine West  Necklace: ILY Couture  Clutch: Michael Kors similar here  Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs  Earrings: J.Crew Factory  Ring: Kate Spade

My current pattern of choice: windowpane. This is my second windowpane print shirt in the last few months and every time I see this pattern I am reminded of how much I love it. I think it's because it is so simple but so much more exciting than a solid-colored shirt. Pairing it with a pop of color is definitely my favorite way to wear it.

Shopping Weekend

Top: Forever 21  Leggings: Legale  Boots: Bandolino  Necklace: ILY Couture  Sunglasses: Ray-Ban  Rings: gifted  Bag: Forever 21 very similar here

This past weekend was full of running around town scoring a few Black Friday deals and, of course, celebrating Small Business Saturday. I wanted to be extra comfortable while standing in lines and driving around so I threw on the most comfortable outfit I could think of: a baggy sweater and plush-lined tights. These tights are a new addition to my huge collection of leggings, but they were a great purchase. They are extra warm with the additional layer of lining and I could not have been more comfortable cruising the city in this outfit.

Did you have any great finds over the shopping weekend? If not, there is still time with Cyber Monday today! I am sure I will be visiting a few sites... but I am hoping to pull away from the web for a bit and head out to celebrate my birthday with some friends.

Happy December!

Back on Track

One of the highlights of my West Coast trip last week was spending some time in Old Sacramento (CA) because it was the only place on our itinerary that I'd never really spent any time. I forgot how fun it is to wander around older cities and how much I enjoy sightseeing. My mom actually drove down to Sacramento the day we arrived so we spent the night getting lost and finding some delicious Italian food. I can't wait to go back the next time I find myself in Sacramento.
Today I am heading back to work and finally settling down with no expected travel in the immediate future. It's so nice to know that I can finally relax and not have to worry about packing another suitcase.

I guess having one cameo on the blog was not enough for my dog, Duke. He wouldn't leave me alone as I took photos the other day so I figured a few more puppy pics never hurt anyone. I was so excited to wear this necklace that arrived last week but it doesn't compare the the best accessory of all: man's best friend.
Prepare to see a lot more of this necklace on the blog though... I plan on wearing it as much as possible. It is such a fun way to dress up a simple outfit and really add the color that is always lacking in my clothes. I am so glad that I picked this color and can't wait to find hundreds of ways to wear these blooms.
