Glasses: c/o Firmoo  Sweatshirt: Arizona State University (old) similar here  Planner: Lilly Pulitzer

It's no secret that I spend a lot of time at home in front of a computer, especially with my current work situation, so it should come as no surprise that I spend a lot of my days in comfy clothes and my glasses. Especially today. Yesterday was a super-long travel day (I flew to Salt Lake, drove to Provo, drove back to Salt Lake and flew home all within a few hours) so I am definitely not about to put my contacts in today. My eyes are tiiiiiired.

I was so excited when Firmoo reached out to me and asked me to try another pair of their glasses because the last time I ordered glasses from them was awhile ago and my prescription has changed since then. These frames are my new faves. I have even worn them to dinner recently because I think they are soo cute, not to mention I can see extremely well. I haven't ever had glasses with plastic AND metal so this is a BIG change. A good change.

So, if you are looking for a new pair of glasses and hate the hassle of trying on millions of pairs at the eye doc, check out Firmoo.com. Not to mention, you can get your first pair free!

Summer Dresses

Nothing is more summery than striped dresses and iced drinks from Starbucks.

Dress: Lilly Pulitzer similar here  Shoes: Target  Necklace: ILY Couture  Bag: Lauren Ralph Lauren similar here  Sunglasses: Ray-Ban  Watch: Michael Kors  Bracelet: Stella and Dot  Rings: gifted

The weather here has been so nice I decided to finally take advantage of it and grab a PTL from Starbucks and work outside a little bit. The sunshine and light breeze was the perfect way to get through a small project.

Also, I bought this dress last summer during one of the online Lilly sales as something to wear over a bathing suit when heading to the beach. I had no idea it could be such a perfect casual dress to wear around town and out to grab pizza with some friends. I am so happy to finally be bare-legged this year.

Summer Stripes

Dress: Lilly Pulitzer similar here  Shoes: Jessica Simpson  Necklace: The Pink Palm similar here  Watch: Michael Kors  Sunglasses: Ray-Ban  Bracelets: Stella and Dot and BaubleBar

When I ordered this dress this past winter, I was so happy to have a striped cover-up to take with me to the pool or the beach. I've been counting down the days until the weather gets warm enough to bust this guy out. I did pull the dress out for a poolside day in Florida a few months ago, but it just wasn't enough.

Well, fast forward a few months, I can't wait another day for some time by the water to throw this dress on. I knew as soon as I saw the temperatures were going to be in the 90s this week, this dress had to come out of the closet. I used to think it was a little too casual for work, but with hot, hot weather and a colorful necklace, this dress got me to, from, and through work, without ever being too hot.

I have been a fan of Lilly dresses for awhile now, but this one is currently at the top of my list. The sleeves are so flattering and the material is incredibly soft and comfortable. While this exact dress is no longer available, they have many similar ones on their website. I may have to snag another before I convince myself to go on a spending freeze.

May Flowers

As the saying goes, April showers bring May flowers… but May brings so much more than just flowers around here. To me, May symbolizes the start of Summer. Maybe I am jumping ahead to Memorial Day too quickly, but I am looking forward to warm summer nights, beach trips and lots of cookouts.
Before I get too ahead of myself, I cannot wait for this upcoming weekend for a few other reasons: Kentucky Derby, my friend's birthday and a chance to get back into a routine. We have had so much fun with people coming to visit for the past few weeks but I think it is always nice to get back into a routine. I plan on spending lots of time unwinding this weekend. Perhaps getting a massage?
What fun things are you up to this weekend?

Black and White

Top: Ann Taylor Similar Style  Pants: Gap  Shoes: Guess  Bracelet: Lilly Pulitzer  Watch: Michael Kors  Blazer: Mossimo

One of my favorite trends right now is black and white. I love basic colors (as you probably noticed here and here) and think that a simple black and white combo can easily be dressy or casual. I wore this simple outfit for a day full of meetings and love the way my Lilly bangle stands out against the simple black and white dots.
Do you like the black and white look or do you prefer more color?

Risk Taker

Top: Old Navy  Blazer: Mossimo  Skirt: Lilly Pulitzer Similar Style  Shoes: Via Spiga  Watch: Michael Kors  Bracelets: Stella and Dot

Today I took a big risk: mixing patterns. I keep seeing this trend all over but have been so nervous to try it! I tend to wear a lot of solid colors so the thought of mixing patterns was a little overwhelming. I decided to try a solid yellow pattern with polka dots. The pattern in the skirt has big flowers and I love the way it contrasts with the black polka dots. This look is not something I would normally wear but I am so glad that I did. Fashion is all about taking risks and I think the rewards definitely paid off today.
What do you think: How do you mix patterns?

Wedding Weekend

Dress: Lilly Pulitzer Similar Style  Shoes: Marc Fisher  Bracelet: Stella and Dot

This past weekend we flew up to Michigan to see some of our good friends get married. It was a beautiful wedding in a gorgeous location. I have been anticipating this wedding for months and was so happy to be a part of their special day.
I found this Lilly dress a few months ago and fell in love. I immediately ordered it so I would have it in time. It is the perfect summer wedding dress (and it's Michigan colors!).
Hope you had a great weekend!

Summer Chambray

Top: Banana Republic  Skirt: Lilly Pulitzer Similar Style  Shoes: Kensie Girl  Bag: Coach Similar Style

The first time I wore this shirt, I absolutely fell in love. Well, nothing has changed. I think it looks great with everything I pair it with. I was leaning towards white jeans this morning and then remembered this skirt hanging in my closet. I love the amount of color I was able to put into my outfit today. So often I find myself wearing black and white so I was so glad I remembered this bright yellow skirt. The blue and yellow contrast is perfect for this summer day.
