Night on the Town Challenge

night on the town challenge

I was so excited last week when Kendra reached out to me for a blogger challenge. She is heading to Las Vegas in a few weeks with a group of friends, and invited me to help me put together the wardrobe that will complement her travel plans. The idea was to include ideas for a night out at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino. She is a mom to three kids and doesn't always know what the latest trends are or how to dress for a night of gambling and fine dining. That's where I came in.

I wanted to find something a little more exciting than an LBD and this dress with the pop of neon is exactly what I had in mind. Something that is exciting to look at, yet still elegant so you can go from dinner to the club seamlessly. Also, the cut of this dress would be flattering on just about any body type. Of course, I wanted to dress everything up with gold, my favorite color to accessorize with. I kept it simple with black heels and a pair of foldable flats to throw on after a night of dancing.

What do you think? What would you suggest for Kendra?

Fashion for a Night in Vegas
Trendy fashions are a lot of fun, and I’ve noticed that I always have a better time when I feel cute and confident in the styles I choose to wear. I’m about to take a quick trip to Las Vegas to enjoy some grownup fun with a few friends, and I want to pick a great outfit. It is important to me that when I walk into one of these luxurious restaurants or hotels that I don’t look out of place. As the mom of three kids, I think I could use a little help coming up with an eye-catching style for stepping out on this exciting night on the town. Will you recommend a great look for me? To inspire your selections, here are some details about the place where I’ll be dining at the Bellagio.
Picasso
Few restaurants achieve a Five Diamond Award from AAA, but Picasso, featuring a menu from the brilliant mind of executive chef Julian Serrano, has won this distinction 13 times. The restaurant features a wine cellar stocked with over 1,500 fine selections from vineyards across Europe. The décor at Picasso lives up to the restaurant’s name and features several masterpieces from Pablo Picasso himself as well as a collection of ceramic sculptures from the Spanish master. Visitors to Picasso can dine indoors or enjoy their meals on the patio for a unique dining experience outdoors.
Sin City Style

No other city in the world has the style and passion of Las Vegas, a refreshing oasis in the middle of the Mojave Desert. I always have fun on a trip here, and I truly believe this city has something for everyone to enjoy. The shows here are second to none, and the dining experiences here are unlike dining experiences I’ve had anywhere else. Whatever I do during a trip to Sin City, I enjoy myself the  most when I feel comfortable and confident in the fashions I wear. I’m especially looking forward to the style recommendations you give for my big night in Las Vegas.

Perfect Match

Dress: Banana Republic similar here  Scarf: Zara  Bag: Phillip Lim for Target  Sunglasses: Ray-Ban  Lips: Buxom  Watch: Michael Kors  Bracelets: Stella and Dot and J.Crew  Boots: Frye

I'm not gonna lie, one of my go-to moves on busy mornings is throwing on a LBD and dressing it up with some accessories. Some days there just isn't time to put together an elaborate outfit and yesterday was one of those days. I re-discovered this dress in my closet and woke up wanting to be extra warm with my blanket scarf. Once the discovery was made, I knew it was a match made in heaven. Comfy dress+ warm scarf? Nothing could be better.

Today leads us into the first long weekend of the year and I couldn't be more excited to see a few days ahead full of relaxation. Oh, and the 49ers are playing again this weekend so there is plenty to look forward to.

Happy Friday y'all!

LBD

Dress: Old Navy  Necklace: Stella and Dot  Shoes: Guess  Watch: c/o The Watch Company  Sunglasses: Ray-Ban  Ring: Tiffany and Co.

Okay, seriously, when did Old Navy start carrying such great basics? When I wandered into Old Navy last week, I had no idea I was going to walk out with so many great additions to my closet. As you saw yesterday, I quickly fell in love with my black Rockstar jeans and baggy sweater... and today I am so excited to debut this LBD. It's hard to believe I walked out of the store with all this (and more!) all for under $100.

Old Navy is not typically a store I think of when I need to run out for a few simple items, but it has quickly jumped to my go-to list. I was chatting with a few coworkers last week about a great place to buy a new pair of white shorts before summer ended and they suggested I go to ON. Who knew they would have just the shorts I wanted... in my size... for $5. Seriously? You can't beat five dollar shorts!

Anywho, this is not a sponsored post by any means. Old Navy really has no idea who I am (other than a customer who spends a few dollars here and there) but I really think that if you are looking for any basics this fall, you should really head to ON. The sweaters, the jeans, all the basics... are a great deal and quite comfortable. I am already considering heading back and buying that sweater in every color.

NOVA Fashion Week

Dress: Banana Republic Similar Style  Tights: HUE  Scarf: Street Vendor Similar Style  Boots: Bandolino  Bracelets: Stella and Dot  Sunglasses: Ray-Ban  Watch: Michael Kors

This past Friday, I attended NOVA Fashion Week and was able to see two shows in one evening: AMERICANMADE and Periwinkle. I met up with a few ladies before the show (including Amanda and Cheryl). We grabbed a couple of drinks before heading in to see the pieces. The shows lasted about an hour and a half as one of the originally schedulde designers was unable to make it. I was not really sure what to expect from NOVA Fashion Week but I know that I fell in love with some of the pieces I saw, especially some of the dresses at Periwinkle. I will be sure to have pictures up by tomorrow.
Did you do anything fun this weekend?
