It's been awhile since I threw on a skirt and left the house feeling extra girly. I think the amount of sweatshirts I've been wearing lately have really been impacting my attitude and making me a little bit lazy when it comes to getting ready each day. Last week I decided I'd had enough and finally put on a skirt and heels and got back to my girly self. I forgot how much fun it is to get dressed up and walk around with heels and a clutch. Plus, this faux leather skirt is a great way to dress up this simple (and super cute) t-shirt.

I fell in love with this shirt a few weeks ago and decided that I HAD to have it when we went to down to San Fran. I knew that we wouldn't be getting much shopping in (too much focus on football and catching up with friends) so I ordered it online and had it shipped to my doorstep. Best. Decision. Ever. I forgot how much I love online shopping. This tee was on my front porch when we got back from our weekend getaway. Perfect. Maybe one day Reno will get a Zara and all my dreams will come true.

Wine Walkin'

Dress: Victoria's Secret similar here  Jacket: Gap love this one  Shoes: Shoemint  Watch: Michael Kors  Bracelets: Stella and Dot here and here  Sunglasses: Pac Sun  Necklace: Stella and Dot  Bag: Forever 21

This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending one of my favorite local events... the Reno wine walk. I mean, what is better than wandering downtown by the river, with friends, sipping on wine? Um, not much, right? I met up with some old friends from college and bar hopped while drinking from a cute floral wine glass. I knew it was the perfect occasion to pull this dress out of my closet. There is something about the wine walk that always makes me want to throw on a dress and this blue and white number was perfect for my Saturday afternoon.

Why a Romper Should be your Summer Go-To

Romper: ASOS similar here  Shoes: Sole Society  Bandeau: Forever 21  Sunglasses: Pac Sun  Necklace: Elaine B. Jewelry  Watch: Michael Kors  Bracelet: Stella and Dot similar here

First of all, it's pretty obvious that my love affair with shorts has been all over the place this year (ahem, here and here and here) so it should come as no surprise that rompers (a dress + shorts) are just as high up on my list of "totally love". I actually bought this romper over the winter and kind of forgot about it until this week. When I first tried it on, I didn't love it but I kept it hanging in the back of my closet... and boy am I glad I did. Throwing it on over a colorful bandeau top was a simple way to stay cool and comfortable in this heat.

The only mistake I made was wearing this to travel. No one likes to remind you that when you wear a romper, running to the bathroom is never quick. Oops. I guess I learned my lesson!

Color block Shorts

Top: 19 Cooper similar here  Shorts: c/o Hot Kiss Clothing  Shoes: Shoemint  Sunglasses: Pac Sun  Watch: Michael Kors  Bracelet: J.Crew similar here  Necklace: Elaine B. Jewelry

Okay, I'll admit-- color block shorts have never really been my thing... until now. I have seen them here and there and always looked over them as "not really my style," but when Hot Kiss sent me this pair over the weekend, I was thrilled to try out this trend... and guess what? I love it. For some reason, I feel like this pair of shorts makes me look super tan and I love how each leg looks different. Weird, right? Definitely not something I've tried before but now I want lots and lots of pairs of shorts like this. Plus, these bad boys are super comfy and I wore them all day, even in our record setting heat. If you're looking to try out this trend at a great price, I highly suggest testing out these shorts.

Laid Back Summer Style

Top: Cloth + Stone very similar here  Shorts: Marimekko x Banana Republic  Shoes: Steve Madden love this pair  Watch: Michael Kors  Bracelets: gifted and J.Crew similar here  Bag: Forever 21  Sunglasses: Pac Sun

Some days you wake up and just want to be lazy. Today I was having the lazy problem when it came to my hair. It's been pretty hot lately and spending time using the hair dryer and curling iron just wasn't appealing. So, I decided to try out the "air dry" look. I usually hate my hair like this but for some reason it really worked well with this casual outfit. I am pretty sure I spent the whole day at home working so no one really saw my lazy hair but it's nice to know that my hair finally won't frizz up when air dried. Boy, I love living somewhere that has no humidity.

Best Vest

Dress: Banana Republic  Vest: Forever 21 similar here  Bag: Lauren Ralph Lauren similar here  Necklace: J.Crew Factory  Watch: Michael Kors  Sunglasses: Pac Sun  Bracelet: Kate Spade  Shoes: Kensie Girl similar here

Okay, so, I was obsessed with this vest last year and thought that I had gotten over it. Boy was I wrong. As soon as I took this vest off the hanger I remembered why I loved it so much last summer. I seriously think it was the best $20 purchase I made last year. It is so versatile and can totally change the look of an outfit instantly. I mean, look what it did with this solid maxi. Ahh, I love it.

Also, I know I keep talking about the weather out west but I can't get enough of it. I wore this outfit earlier this week to meet up for drinks on the patio. The sun was setting and it was still warm enough to go sleeveless at 6pm. I definitely am not regretting my choice to move back to the west best coast.

Back in Action

Dress: Gap very similar here  Sunglasses: Pac Sun  Necklace: Banana Republic similar here  Watch: Michael Kors  Shoes: Target love these!  Bracelets: Stella and Dot and Kate Spade  Rings: gifted  Lip color: Maybelline

Wow, it feels like weeks since I've done an outfit post! Well, I guess that isn't too far off as I think the last outfit post was well before the move began. It's amazing to think about how much has changed in the last three weeks. For starters, this is my first post back in Nevada. The weather could not have been more perfect for my return. Temps have been in the mid to high 70s and each day has been sunny with a light breeze. I could not have asked for anything better.

To celebrate the great weather, and the fact that all of my clothes are still on a truck somewhere in the middle of America, I decided to wear this lace dress for one of my first days at the new job. I love how summery it feels now that I don't have to pair it with tights and boots.

Also, thanks for sticking with me as I finish up with this move. It hasn't been easy but I finally have internet and it looks like my stuff will be arriving on Saturday! I can't wait to make this house my home.

Neon + Neutrals

Dress: Amanda Uprichard  Tights: HUE  Boots: Frye  Sweater: J.Crew  Scarf: similar here  Bracelet: Kate Spade  Watch: Michael Kors  Sunglasses: Pac Sun

One of my favorite pairings of all time has to be neon and neutrals. I think it's something about the way the neon pops against the neutral color. Instead of sticking with just simple black and white, I wanted to pair this neon dress with one of my new favorite neutrals: leopard print. Somehow prints have snuck into the neutral category in my book and I couldn't be more thrilled to wear them on a more routine basis.
Also, this dress was a find a few weeks ago when I attended the Last Call by Neiman Marcus event hosted by Maria.  I saw this dress and it screamed summer brunches to me. But, in my usual fashion of not being able to wait, I decided to pair it with tights and boots and throw it on for what I am hoping is the last of our winter weather.
