Hit the Beach

beach bags
1/ 2/ 3/ 4/ 5/ 6

First of all, this is not a sponsored post. I am just seriously in love with this brand and wanted to share it with you. The folks at Hayden Reis have no idea that I, or this blog, exist, but I can't contain my love for these bags any longer. I mean, how cute are these bags? They are made out of sailboat material and are PERFECT for a day at the beach. Plus, they come in a couple different sizes and have special bags for sunscreen and your wet bathing suit. Um, obsessed.

I realized how badly I need to buy a beach bag the other day when we went up to Tahoe for the first beach day of the year. I have ZERO beach bags. How is that possible? Sure, I have big purses and random tote bags, but nothing that screams "beach day!" So, I have been on a mission to find the perfect beach bag and I am convinced these bags are exactly what I need. Now comes the hard part: picking just one.

Lovin' the Lace

Top: Banana Republic Similar Style  Skirt: H&M Similar Style  Shoes: Via Spiga  Bracelet: Stella and Dot

Some days, despite all my effort, the humidity wins. Yesterday was one of those days. No matter how many times I re-straightened my hair, the humidity won the battle. Days like this make me want to dress up in hopes of looking a little more put-together. I decided to wear my new lace top that I have been lusting over for weeks. I love it so much!
What do you do to battle humid days?

Hot Hot Thursday

Top: Banana Republic  Skirt: ℅ Sugarlips  Shoes: Nine West  Watch: Michael Kors  Bracelet/Necklace: Stella and Dot  Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

Today is another day over 100 degrees here in DC so I knew I needed something light and comfortable for the day-- especially while running errands. After wearing shorts yesterday, I wanted to switch it up a little with a skirt. I love the colors of this skirt and think it is a great spring/ summmer skirt. The fabric is light and it goes with so many things. I love it! I really like the colorblock look and I think these colors do it well.
Hope you can stay out of the heat today-- and don't forget to enter my giveaway for a Stella and Dot bracelet.

Wedding Weekend

Dress: Lilly Pulitzer Similar Style  Shoes: Marc Fisher  Bracelet: Stella and Dot

This past weekend we flew up to Michigan to see some of our good friends get married. It was a beautiful wedding in a gorgeous location. I have been anticipating this wedding for months and was so happy to be a part of their special day.
I found this Lilly dress a few months ago and fell in love. I immediately ordered it so I would have it in time. It is the perfect summer wedding dress (and it's Michigan colors!).
Hope you had a great weekend!

Summer Fridays

Top: Banana Republic  Jeans: Zara  Shoes: Nine West  Necklace: Stella and Dot  Bracelet: Stella and Dot

Summer Fridays are the best. Days at work are slower, the weather is perfect and you can spend the day anticipating the upcoming weekend. White jeans scream summertime and were the perfect outfit choice this morning.
This weekend I am looking forward to pool dates, concerts and hopefully some great barbeque. I won't be able to spend Father's Day with my dad, so I am hoping we can grill some food in his honor.
Hope everyone has a great Father's Day!

Minty Fresh

After a long, long search for mint-colored jeans, I finally found exactly what I was looking for at Zara. I have recently discovered their jeans and fallen in love. (See here and here.) They are so comfortable and come in so many different colors. I have been waiting for them to carry the perfect shade of mint and I was so happy when I stumbled upon these.

Summer is here

Well, it officially feels like Summer here in DC. It is hot and humid and full of sunshine. I think it's just about time to pack up my pants and live in skirts and dresses for the next few months. While getting ready this morning, I came across a skirt I haven't worn in awhile and decided it was time to pull it out of my closet. I don't dress up nearly as much as I used to so I thought it would be fun to wear. Plus, it is gray and I can't get enough of gray and yellow together.

yellow jeans

Why is colored denim so fun?
I now have about four pairs of colored jeans that are a great way to add some flair to my outfits. I can't get enough of these fun colors for Spring and Summer. I think the yellow and red pairs are my current favorites-- they go with so many things and can brighten any day just by looking at them. Plus, they are really comfortable which is an added bonus.

I think I want to try a pair of teal or pink jeans.
Where do you buy your colored jeans?

march day twenty three: shoes

Shoes: Kensie Girl Similar Style

I ordered these shoes on Monday and they got here earlier this week. I absolutely love them! They are really tall, match everything and just scream summer. They are pretty comfortable and I just want to wear them everywhere.

What are your favorite summer shoes?

Happy Friday: Shoes.

march day fifteen: stripes

Sweater: Ann Taylor
Dress: Target
Heels: not pictured or available online

Today I decided my photo of the day would be stripes.

The temperature outside is currently 80 degrees and rising. It definitely feels like summer.

I stuck with my neon theme from yesterday-- I am really into the bright colors this year and want to flood my closet with them. They are so fun!

march day fourteen: necklace

I decided to switch things up.

As you may have noticed, in my last post, I talked about taking pictures of things that are more meaningful. Instead of waiting until April, I am starting now.

Last night, Kristin and I went to Girls Night Out. We were not really sure what to expect other than we knew that we paid $15 and were told it was free drinks all night. Well, it was better than that! For our $15 ticket, we got a bag of goodies (snacks, sample beauty products, etc.), free drinks from 5-10pm and a night of shopping from cute vendors not in the DC area. We wandered around for a few hours sipping cosmos and picking out new clothes and jewelry. I came home with a few new necklaces and a new ring. Kristin bought a couple of dresses and some jewelry. We had a great night! I mean, how could you not? Drinks and shopping? It was pretty much heaven.

I took a picture of my neon necklace I bought last night and I am using it as my photo of the day. I love how bright it is. It is hard to capture with my phone, but it is neon. The necklace, along with the 80 degree weather today, definitely puts me in the mood for summer. I can't wait for beach trips, pools and warm summer nights.
