Rugby Stripes

Top: Gap (only $10 online!)  Skirt: The Limited  Shoes: Target  Bracelets: Vintage and Stella and Dot  Watch: ℅ The Watch Company  Sunglasses: Ray-Ban  Necklace: Stella and Dot

Stripes have recently become an addiction that I can't get over. I tried to put myself on a stripes-spending-freeze but that clearly was put to a halt when I spotted this tee last weekend. The pink was such a perfect color and I knew I had to have it. At least I was more successful than the time I left the mall with five new tops, four of which were striped. You can now score this top in 4 different colors online for only $7. It is marked down to $10 AND you can save 30% on top of that through Thursday. What are you waiting for?

Pattern Play

Top: H&M  Skirt: Kirna Zabete for Target  Bracelet: Stella and Dot  Sunglasses: Ray-Ban  Necklace: Stella and Dot  Shoes: GUESS

One trend I am still hestitant to try: mixing patterns. I tried mixing a flower pattern and polka dots here and loved the end result yet have not been very confident when mixing patterns since. This past weekend, I bought a few (read: way too many) striped shirts. I think that with simple colors, the stripes become such a neutral and can be paired with just about anything. I wanted to debut my striped shirt collection by pairing one of the shirts with a fancy skirt that adds so much to a simple black and white top.

J.Crew Lovin'

Ever since last year I have been dying to find one of these J.Crew tops with stripes and color blocking at the top. I was even desperate enough to try and find one on ebay. Sadly, I never found one in pink in my size. It seems all I could ever track down was an extra, extra small. This past weekend, I finally found one that fit me. I knew instantly that I had to have it because I haven't stopped talking about this shirt since I first spotted it. I am so happy J.Crew has brought them back and I am now the proud owner of this pink one.

Bubbles and Stripes

Top: Banana Republic  Skirt: Forever 21  Vest: Gap  Tights: Betsey Johnson  Boots: Bandolino  Necklace: Online Boutique Similar Style  Glasses: ℅ Firmoo

As you may have noticed here and here, my bubble necklace is one of my favorite jewelry pieces these days. Pairing it with stripes was a fun way to mix it up in the office before I left.

Summer Stripes

Top: Banana Republic  Shorts: Banana Republic  Watch: Michael Kors  Shoes: Jessica Simpson  Ring: Stella and Dot  Necklace: Stella and Dot  Bracelet: Vintage  Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

Blue and white stripes are one of my favorite summer looks. I chose this casual outfit for an afternoon of running errands and then heading over to a friend's house in the city for some champagne on the patio. I normally would have gotten a little more dressed up for an evening out but it was so hot all weekend and after a full week of dressing up for work, I really wanted some shorts and sandals in my life. I love how comfortable shorts can be! I used to hate shorts but recently began loving them-- too bad I can only wear them a few days a week.

Summer Fridays

Top: Banana Republic  Jeans: Zara  Shoes: Nine West  Necklace: Stella and Dot  Bracelet: Stella and Dot

Summer Fridays are the best. Days at work are slower, the weather is perfect and you can spend the day anticipating the upcoming weekend. White jeans scream summertime and were the perfect outfit choice this morning.
This weekend I am looking forward to pool dates, concerts and hopefully some great barbeque. I won't be able to spend Father's Day with my dad, so I am hoping we can grill some food in his honor.
Hope everyone has a great Father's Day!

Nautical Stripes

I cannot get enough of nautical apparel in the summer. Blue and white look so crisp and perfect together on a hot summer day. Lately I have been pairing all of my blue outfits with gold shoes but I went back to an old favorite today: red shoes. I think that they create such a patriotic feel that looks great with the nautical theme of the blue and white stripes. All I need now is an anchor bracelet. Here is one I love.
