Best Vest

Okay, so, I was obsessed with this vest last year and thought that I had gotten over it. Boy was I wrong. As soon as I took this vest off the hanger I remembered why I loved it so much last summer. I seriously think it was the best $20 purchase I made last year. It is so versatile and can totally change the look of an outfit instantly. I mean, look what it did with this solid maxi. Ahh, I love it.

Also, I know I keep talking about the weather out west but I can't get enough of it. I wore this outfit earlier this week to meet up for drinks on the patio. The sun was setting and it was still warm enough to go sleeveless at 6pm. I definitely am not regretting my choice to move back to the west best coast.

Summer Favorites

With summer heat and humidy at it's peak lately, I've been turning to an old favorite: light dresses and keeping my hair off my neck. I am the kind of girl who loves to wear her hair down and keep it simple but lately I've found my hair up more often than not. Because I've been trying new updos, bringing braids back into the mix was necessary. I've said before that this is my favorite summer hairdo and I forgot why until I pulled my hair up and off my face this morning.

When traveling, comfort is key. I decided to wear of my most comfortable outfits for the plane ride on Monday. I wanted to dress it up (or down really) with this fun denim vest I picked up at Forever 21 last week. Something about this vest screams the 80s and I just had to have it.

Oh, and because I was in an 80s mindset… I decided to try and recreate the Whitesnake video on our rental car. Just kidding. Kind of.

Back to Work

After quite an exciting weekend, today I had to get ready to head back to work. Mondays are always tough after a fun weekend. This past weekend, two of my friends from college moved to DC and into our house. I am so excited to have friends from back home out here. Now, just a short week of work and then off to Michigan for a wedding!

Hope you have a great Monday!

Humidity + Hair

Today is another hot and humid day here in DC. Because of all the moisture in the air, I decided to let my hair air dry. There is no point in styling it as it will look terrible five minutes after leaving the house anyway. I actually love leaving my hair wavy because it so easy and I love how summery it feels.
Hope everyone is staying out of the heat!
Do you have a go-to hairstyle to beat this humidity?

MAXImum Comfort

Some Mondays just call for a comfortable outfit. Today is one of those days. With rain falling outside and one of the cooler days in the forecast, I decided comfort was just what I needed. Nothing is more comfortable than a maxi dress (I am not even sure sweatpants compare!) so I knew exactly what to wear as soon as I got out of bed.
What is your go-to comfort outfit?

Summer Chambray

The first time I wore this shirt, I absolutely fell in love. Well, nothing has changed. I think it looks great with everything I pair it with. I was leaning towards white jeans this morning and then remembered this skirt hanging in my closet. I love the amount of color I was able to put into my outfit today. So often I find myself wearing black and white so I was so glad I remembered this bright yellow skirt. The blue and yellow contrast is perfect for this summer day.

Memorial Maxi

Nothing is better for a Memorial Day weekend at the lake than a Maxi dress. They are so comfortable and versatile. I love pairing mine with some wedges and spending the evening by the water.

Hope you are having a great holiday weekend!
